The Role

RESPONSIBILITIES
A Engineer Project Associater will assist to perform existing building energy assessments and audits and new construction commissioning (Cx) within UL's Asset and Sustainability Performance group.
In this role you will have the ability to proficiently and proactively complete energy audit, energy modeling, commissioning and ventilation testing and documentation. Some level of subject matter training is still required for this position. Begin developing competencies in interpreting and documenting project requirements, completing sites assessment, reviewing and interpreting plans and drawings, completing water, energy, and ventilation calculations, reviewing construction material submittals, and other commissioning related tasks. At this level the employee should start becoming familiar and support with more complex analysis such as ventilation rates and energy savings calculations.

  • Assist to complete existing building energy audits and assessments through.
  • Ability to identify all requirements of energy team services
  • Completing documentation tasks on time, accurately and completely with minimal supervision
  • Asking question to Senior Engineering Project Managers before starting a task to ensure efficiency
  • Supporting with tools and template creation
  • Ability to identify and learn from mistakes to take corrective action
  • Is resourceful and knows where to search for information to answer projects questions
  • Promptly responding to report team and other colleagues when they have questions
  • Availability to travel for site visits if required
  • Collaborate with Sales Team to assist in developing business.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Architecture, or other similar science degree
  • Experience and the ability to simultaneously manage a diverse, complex set of projects.
  • Proven experience with the building assessments, commissioning process, documentation, and regulations for, but not limited to, LEED, Energy Code, United States Army Corps of Engineers Total Building Commissioning, etc.
  • Retro Commissioning experience a plus.
  • Building Envelope Commissioning and performance testing a plus.
  • CxA, CCP, Cx+BE, CBCP, QCxP, CxA, or similar certification preferred
  • Professional Engineer (PE) a plus
  • LEED Accredited Professional (AP) preferred
  • Ability to travel locally and regionally, and work remotely. Travel outside area is expected for training purposes and additional support of workload in other territories.


Candidate preferred to be located in the Greater Los Angeles and Orange County area.

The salary range for this role is $75,000 to 85,000 and is based upon years of experience that is commensurate with the level of the position. All employees at UL Solutions are eligible for annual bonus compensation. The target for this position is 10% of the base salary offered. Employees are eligible for health benefits such as medical, dental and vision; wellness benefits such as mental & financial health; and retirement savings (401K) commensurate with the standard rewards offered in each individual location or country, for the relevant position level. We also provide employees with paid time off including vacation (15 days), holiday including floating holidays (12 days) and sick time off (72 hours).
