The Role:

Carrot is looking for an experienced, high-performing player/coach sales leader to help us expand our entry into the Labor market. The VP of Labor Sales will be responsible for developing a comprehensive sales strategy and achieving revenue goals for this new line of business while overseeing a team to do the same. 

What you’ll be doing: 

  • Develop and execute the Carrot Taft-Hartley Labor strategy to achieve pipeline and bookings targets while supporting broader Carrot Commercial goals
  • Build Carrot’s footprint in the Public and Labor Markets by expanding our presence with prospects, consultants, coalitions, and conferences.
  • Utilize data and analytics to manage, coach, and monitor the team's performance to establish and deliver against individual strategies and goals.
  • Present accurate sales forecasts and performance metrics to the management team with recommendations for improvements, resource allocation, and investments.
  • Proactively identify and remove roadblocks for the Labor sales team to enable the achievement of revenue targets.
  • Be a thought and motivational leader within our Commercial Carrot team. 

The Team: 

The Taft-Hartley/Labor team has a highly specialized sales function within the Carrot Commercial organization. Our primary goal is to achieve growth targets for this new channel at Carrot. 

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Minimum of 10+ years of experience in sales or business development, with a focus on the union, Taft-Hartley sector
  • Successful track record of managing teams driving large dollar contracts in the collectively bargained marketplace. 
  • A growth mindset that thrives in a fast-paced start-up environment
  • Process-oriented leadership skills that include a track record of scaling organizations to drive efficient growth
  • Fluency in relationship-building, particularly with key decision-makers and influencers.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
  • Ability to travel as needed to meet with clients and attend industry events (50%)
  • Outstanding communication skills and a thoughtful and collaborative approach to sales

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Preferred benefits/healthcare sales experience
  • Passion for building new verticals, expanding market segments and taking on challenges.
  • A robust network of relationships with key stakeholders in the Public and Labor market: brokers, health plans, coalitions and funds

Compensation: 

Carrot offers a holistic Total Rewards package designed to support our employees in all aspects of their life inside and outside of work, including health and wellness benefits, retirement savings plans, short- and long-term incentives, parental leave, family-forming assistance, and a competitive compensation package. The starting base salary for this position will range from $190,000.00 - $200,000.00. Actual compensation may vary from posted base salary depending on your confirmed job-related skills and experience.
