About the Role:
CrowdStrike is seeking a Vice President of Tax, based in Sunnyvale, CA, reporting to the Chief Accounting Officer. This person will be responsible for the Company's worldwide tax strategy, planning, reporting, audits and compliance. This position will help develop and refine best practices in terms of the tax provision, transfer pricing, sales and use tax as well as miscellaneous business tax compliance. Success in this role is dependent on leadership, communication, organization/people development, hands-on approach, process improvement, strategic execution and ability to perform in a fast-paced dynamic business environment.
What You'll Do:

  • Lead and continue to develop global tax capabilities for a multinational company, including managing domestic and offshore resources
  • Research complex tax issues and summarize results to communicate to management and regularly engage with planning opportunities and tax law changes.
  • Perform tax due diligence, provide structural advice on transactions, analyze proposed acquisitions, collaborate with deal teams and provide ad hoc advice on all tax matters.
  • Establish and maintain formal tax policies, practices and procedures to ensure US GAAP compliance and strong internal controls with Sarbanes-Oxley compliance
  • Tax strategy including M&A with changes in tax laws and regulations
  • Tax strategy for global mobility and global expansion
  • Oversee global tax audit and controversy
  • Manage tax incentive applications, tax rulings and negotiations
  • Accounting for income taxes in the US and international subsidiaries
  • Develop and maintain SEC disclosures relating to income taxes
  • Monitor and update company's transfer pricing policies and related documentation
  • Oversee tax matters related to foreign operations (income tax, indirect tax, withholding tax, etc.)
  • Monitor legislative changes in US and foreign tax laws that may impact the Company's tax positions, including tax accounting implications
  • Requires interaction with external auditors with primary interaction with external tax auditors - manage audits of federal and state income tax as well as state and local filings
  • Manage outside tax consultants and advisors
  • Oversee and/or complete special projects as required


What You'll Need:

  • Bachelor's degree, with emphasis in accounting or finance
  • Master's Degree and CPA preferred
  • Minimum of 15 years of corporate, international tax experience
  • Public accounting firm (i.e. Big 4) and industry experience
  • Understanding of M&A and cross-border tax issues
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Proven success in developing and leading a team of people using a collaborative management style in a fast-paced, dynamic multi-national public company environment
  • Excellent planning, analysis, project management and execution skills
  • Ability to work a flexible work schedule as projects require
  • Adept at prioritization, responsiveness and understanding sense of urgency
  • Ability to work independently and/or on teams and balance multiple projects and processes simultaneously
  • Track record of managing global service providers to ensure work is completed on time, with quality and on budget
  • Strong analytical, Excel and systems skills are required

CrowdStrike, Inc. is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The base salary range for this position in the U.S. is $305,000 - $355,000 per year + variable/incentive compensation + equity + benefits. A candidate's salary is determined by various factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and location.
