WHAT YOU'LL DO
We're looking for a Staff Engineer for our Currents team, which is responsible for building, maintaining, and evolving Currents, our data export at scale system. The Currents system is a robust Kafka-based event pipeline handling tens of billions of messages daily that our customers leverage to analyze user behavior in near real-time.
You’ll be a key engineering leader on a highly collaborative and skilled team, responsible for bringing projects from concept to production and improving our existing high-scale systems. You will be leveraging your past experience, your skills, and a strong sense of teamwork to tackle the significant engineering challenges of running a critical data streaming system.
WHO YOU ARE
- 7+ years of full-stack development experience
- Experience building foundational systems at scale and spearheading software projects that significantly advanced the goals of your organization
- Leads by example. Excellent at mentoring engineers. Makes your colleagues better.
- Self-starter with great communication and organizational skills and experience working in a highly collaborative team environment
- Experience with Kafka at scale, or comparable technology
- Professional experience working with distributed systems and/or microservices.
- Bonus if you’ve worked with Ruby, Ruby on Rails, Confluent, or MongoDB.
For candidates based in the United States, the pay range for this position at the start of employment is expected to be between $192,000 and $261,300/year with an expected On Target Earnings (OTE) between $240,000 and $275,000/year (including bonus or commission). Your exact offer may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition to cash compensation, Braze offers full- and part- time employees a comprehensive Total Rewards package that includes equity grants of restricted stock (RSUs) so that all Braze employees own a piece of our company.
