Job Description:

Providing for loved ones, planning rewarding retirements, saving enough for whatever lies ahead – our policyholders count on us to be there when it matters most. It’s a big ask, but it’s one that we have the power to deliver when we work together. We collaborate and innovate – pushing one another to transform not just Pacific Life, but the entire industry for the better. Why? Because it’s the right thing to do. Pacific Life is more than a job, it’s a career with purpose. It’s a career where you have the support, balance, and resources to make a positive impact on the future – including your own.

We’re actively seeking a talented Sr. Oracle Expense Management Analyst to play a key role in our global support structure, collaborating with key finance stakeholders and partnering alongside Pacific Life Technology to deliver and maintain solutions enabling Business Insights and Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) anchored on Oracle Enterprise Planning and Budgeting Cloud Services (EPBCS) and Enterprise Profitability and Cost Management Cloud Services (EPCMCS).  This role is hybrid located in Newport Beach, CA or Omaha, NE.  We will also consider fully remote candidates (depending on location).

This is a terrific opportunity to help identify, develop, and provide recommendations for improvements that support FP&A strategic initiatives, while serving on a team that helps bridge the gap between our internal stakeholders and our managed service provider (MSP).  In this role, you will consult with local and global business partners, analyze business needs, facilitate communication, and help ensure successful implementation of solutions that drive efficiency and enhance our services in multiple geographies.

How you’ll help move us forward:

  • Collaborate closely with internal teams and the managed service provider to gather and document business requirements, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.

  • Partner with business stakeholders to understand requirements, analyze and recommend prioritization based on options and risks, creating clear specifications for the MSP to facilitate effective solution development.

  • Act as a liaison between stakeholders and the MSP, ensuring that project updates, timelines, and deliverables are communicated clearly and effectively.

  • Conduct process mapping and workflow analysis to identify opportunities for improvement and optimization.

  • Drive fit/gap analysis and decision recommendation on solution design through solution option exploration and prototyping when appropriate, bringing together the relevant representations needed across business, functional and/or technical subject matter expertise.

  • Assist in business testing and business validation of solutions provided by the MSP, ensuring they meet the defined requirements and business objectives.

  • Support project management activities, including tracking progress, managing timelines, and reporting on project status.

  • Facilitate meetings and workshops with stakeholders to gather feedback, discuss challenges, and promote collaboration between teams.

  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of implemented solutions, making recommendations for enhancements as needed.

  • Stay informed about industry trends, Oracle releases, and best practices to contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Develop and maintain documentation as needed to support the system and user community

The experience you bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, or related discipline.

  • Experience supporting multi-currency global Oracle EPM solution, specifically with expense management, forecasting, and cost allocation functions

  • Strong functional knowledge on Oracle EPM Planning and Budgeting (EPBCS) and Profitability & Cost Management (EPCMCS)

  • Familiar with accounting and financial reporting requirements and ERP-related systems and concepts.

  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

  • Proven ability to meet deadlines, prioritize workloads, maintain attention to detail and work independently in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment. Ability to handle multiple work efforts and initiatives concurrently.

  • Highly skilled in ‘power user’ functions in Microsoft Excel.

  • Working knowledge of SmartView for report creation and submission of data into Oracle EPM applications.

What makes you stand out:

  • Experience or knowledge working on company budgets, expense management and cost allocations.

  • Experience or knowledge in the Financial Services Industry, ideally annuities, life insurance, workforce benefits, institutional and/or reinsurance business lines.

  • 2+ years technical experience supporting Oracle EPM EPBC/EPCM and/or Essbase.

  • Advanced degree in Business Administration, Finance, Data Analytics or related field.
