Workrise is hiring aSenior User Researcher who will be responsible for helping define and drive the future of our products by leading and aligning user research activities across one or more teams. This position will take on complex projects, think strategically about research approaches, and influence the overall research strategy for Workrise. The Senior User Researcher collaborates closely with management, Product, Marketing, Engineering, and other cross-functional business partners to build the research roadmap and lead research for assigned areas, leading to scalable solutions that foster relationships between the market and Workrise. This role will be exempt and will report to the Director, User Research.

  • Define, plan and conduct generative or evaluative research activities
    • Prioritize research questions and projects that tie to business objectives
    • Identify best method/mixed-method approach and execute with rigor and quality
    • Work through the end-to-end research lifecycle for generative and evaluative research projects (study design, recruiting, moderation, analysis, reporting, communicating)
    • Make actionable recommendations that improve our products and create new, value-driven user experiences
  • Build cross-functional relationships and reference documentation
    • Influence data-driven decisions in cross-functional conversations by appropriately communicating insights with varying levels of detail and complexity for the audience
    • Contribute to workshops and training sessions with cross-functional stakeholders
    • Contribute to cross-functional planning activities
    • Work closely with product teams to leverage qualitative and quantitative insights
    • Advise product designers on evaluative research needs and usability testing plans
    • Assists in the development of a research repository
  • Business Trends and Mentoring
    • Stay abreast of current and emerging industry trends and best practices in the marketplace
    • Mentor others to develop impactful deliverables and actionable insights that cross-functional teams can leverage
    • Makes recommendations to management to influence the evolution of the research repository
    • Serves as a subject matter expert for business partners across the organization
    • Create research templates, playbooks, and process improvements



  • Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Cognitive Science, Human Factors, Anthropology, Sociology, HCI, Humanities, Design, or a related field - or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of experience conducting impactful research
  • Previous experience mentoring others in planning and conducting their own studies
  • Proven experience of end-to-end research throughout all aspects of the research lifecycle (study design, recruiting, moderation, analysis, and synthesis, reporting, and communicating)
  • Strong collaboration, communication, and presentation skills
  • A pragmatic approach to the application of research
  • Experience with taking on and owning aspects of research operations



  • Master's degree or PhD in Psychology, Cognitive Science, Human Factors, Anthropology, Sociology, HCI, Humanities, Design, or a related field
  • Demonstrated quantitative skills
  • Previous experience with a startup
  • Experience with B2B
  • Challenging recruitment experience
