Are you an experienced and dynamic event professional looking to make a significant impact in a growing, innovative company? As a Senior Marketing Event Specialist, you will help drive strategy and execution for assigned event types, and support the Director, Event Experiences and Senior Manager, Marketing Events with logistics, coordination, and execution of internal and external events. For external events you will work closely with our Marketing team to ensure all event details are planned and executed to AffiniPay standards. For internal events you will work with the Experience team to assist with all internal event logistics. This person should possess creativity, excellent communication and organizational skills, follow-through, the ability to work across multiple departments within the company, and represent the company at events in a positive and professional manner.

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead Event Strategy & Execution: Collaborate with the Marketing Events Leadership team to define the event strategy for assigned events, ensuring alignment with the company’s goals and objectives.
  • Manage External Events: Work closely with our Marketing team to oversee all event logistics, from planning and coordination to execution, ensuring that each event is aligned with AffiniPay’s standards.
  • Coordinate Internal Events: Partner with the Experience team to manage internal event logistics, ensuring smooth and engaging experiences for all participants.
  • Third-Party Liaison: Manage relationships with external event organizers, handling contracts, sponsorships, and deliverables to ensure that all event specifications are met.
  • Creative Event Planning: Take charge of booth presence, staff coordination, swag, booth activations, and any ancillary events, adding your creative touch to enhance brand presence.
  • Budget Oversight: Maintain a working budget for each event, ensuring costs stay on track while reporting up to Marketing Leadership.
  • Communication & Collaboration: Build clear communication plans for pre- and post-event engagement with key stakeholders across marketing, sales, and other departments.
  • Project Management: Use our project management tools to track deadlines, approvals, and deliverables, ensuring each event meets expectations from start to finish.
  • Post-Event Evaluation: Review event performance and make necessary adjustments for continuous improvement.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with the Brand, Campaigns, Affinity Programs, and Partnerships teams to ensure event strategies align with larger marketing initiatives.
  • On-the-Day Event Support: For internal events, assist with day-of logistics and provide hands-on support as needed.

About You:

  • Event Experience: 3-5 years of external corporate event planning experience, with a strong background in trade shows (a plus!).
  • Organizational Excellence: Strong organizational and planning skills with a proven track record of managing multiple events at varying stages simultaneously.
  • Communication & Collaboration: Highly effective communicator who can work across various teams and departments, ensuring alignment and efficiency.
  • Creative Problem Solver: Ability to think creatively and independently to solve challenges and deliver innovative solutions.
  • Follow-through & Attention to Detail: Strong commitment to ensuring that every event runs smoothly, with excellent follow-up and attention to detail.
  • Flexible & Proactive: Willingness to work flexible hours, including attending events after hours, to ensure smooth setup, execution, and takedown.
  • Location Flexibility: This position sits in Austin, Texas. You must be able to work from our Austin office at least 2 days per week.
