Why should I Apply:

At Sonar, we’re a group of brilliant, motivated, and driven professionals working hard to help organizations build responsible, secure, high-quality code quickly and systematically. We build solutions that don’t just solve symptoms of problems – we fix problems at the source – source code, to be specific.

We have a dynamic culture with employees worldwide and hub offices in the USA, Switzerland, the UK, Singapore, and Germany. We believe team members should have the opportunity to come to work every day, work on a product they are proud of, love what they do, and feel energized by their peers. With our roots deep in the open source community, we’re all about the mission: provide solutions that deliver Clean Code.

The impact you will have

As a member of one of our engineering squads, you will leverage your experience and expertise to design and develop Cloud-based solutions and migrate existing applications to Cloud-native ones. This means implementing massively scalable services, automating all system operations, measuring and continuously improving service quality, and making the lives of other developers easier.

You will play a key role in helping our product reach its next stage of evolution and delight our users and customers.

On a daily basis, you will

  • Develop, enhance, and operate cloud solutions on AWS with a focus on automation, high performance, scalability, and cost-efficiency.
  • Take part in the definition of novel cloud solution designs and lead their development.
  • Work in sprints with other engineers (backend, frontend, SRE, and other CPEs) as part of a cross-functional to deliver new features into production.
  • Collaborate with other squads in Product Development and Mission Control (InfraSec, IST) to ensure solutions fit into the Sonar platform.
  • Contribute to your squad’s efforts in the investigation of alarms, SLOs, and incidents to maintain a high quality of service.

The technical skills you will demonstrate

  • 5+ years of experience with architecting, developing, and operating cloud solutions on AWS.
  • In-depth knowledge of AWS networking and the following AWS services: CloudFront, CloudWatch, Lambda, EC2, ECS, SNS, SQS, and RDS.
  • Advanced proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) with at least one of the following tools: AWS CloudFormation, AWS CDK (preferred), or Terraform.
  • Experience with at least one programming language such as Python, Java, C# or similar.
  • Experience with at least one scripting language such as Bash or similar.
  • Strong DevOps mindset.
  • Experience working in an agile environment.

Nice to have

  • Proficiency with AWS DynamoDB or OpenSearch.
  • Proficiency with Ansible or other IaC solutions (only for Platform).
  • AWS Solution Architect, AWS DevOps Engineer, or other valid, relevant AWS certifications.
  • Experience with distributed application architecture and development.

The soft skills you will demonstrate

  • Taking initiative and having the ability to lead a subject from beginning to end.
  • Open-minded and very positive can-do attitude.
  • Comfortable in dealing with change and complexity.
  • Self-confident enough to challenge the status quo as well as to give and receive feedback.
  • Team player but has the ability to work alone.
  • Enjoy exploring and learning new technologies.

Why you will love it here:

Our culture and mission set us apart. We have a dynamic work culture that values respect and kindness – and embraces the right to fail (and get right back up again!). We believe that the best idea wins and everyone has a voice.

We believe that great people make a great company. We value people skills as much as technical skills and strive to keep things friendly and laid-back while still being passionate leaders in our domains. Our 550+ SonarSourcers from 33 different nationalities can relate!

We embrace work-life balance. It is important to maintain a healthy work-life balance. This is why we have a flexible work policy that includes remote and in-office hybrid work.

We have a growth mindset. We love to learn and believe that continuous education is critical to our success. In an ever-changing industry, new skills are a must, and we're happy to help our team acquire them.
