The Role

Work Locations: San Francisco, Austin, TX and or New York.
The Principal Internal Event Manager will lead the end-to-end planning, coordination, and execution of key internal events, including, but not limited to, Sales Kick Off and President's Club. This role demands exceptional project management abilities, attention to detail, and the capacity to collaborate effectively across multiple departments, ensuring that all events not only meet but exceed the company's objectives and Cloudflare standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Internal Event Strategy:

  • Partner with GTM leadership to align event objectives with the broader company goals.
  • Craft and implement strategic plans for Sales Kick-Off and President's Club
  • Develop detailed schedules, budgets, and action plans to guide event execution.


Logistical Project Management:

  • Handle all logistical aspects of events, including selecting venues, managing vendors, event production, registration, travel management, and overseeing on-site activities.
  • Work closely with internal teams to ensure flawless integration and smooth execution of events.
  • Work closing with design on the creation of event collateral.


Vendor & Stakeholder Management:

  • Identify, negotiate, and manage relationships with external vendors to secure high-quality and cost-effective services.
  • Act as the main point of contact for all event stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and expectations throughout the process.


On-Site Event Management:

  • Direct the on-site execution of events, ensuring all elements proceed smoothly and troubleshooting any issues that arise.
  • Lead event staff and vendors, providing guidance and support as needed.


Post-Event Analysis:

  • Conduct thorough post-event reviews to assess success against established goals
  • Collect and analyze feedback from attendees and stakeholders to continuously improve future events
  • Compile reports on event outcomes, including ROI and attendee satisfaction metrics


Budget Oversight:

  • Create and manage budgets for each event, ensuring all activities are delivered within financial constraints
  • Monitor and report on expenditures, identifying opportunities for cost savings without compromising quality

Qualifications:

  • BS/BA degree and 8 years of experience in event management, with a focus on internal events (experience with tech companies a plus)
  • At least Demonstrated experience in managing large-scale events with multiple stakeholders.
  • Exceptional project management skills, with the ability to oversee multiple events concurrently.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency in event management software, budgeting tools, and the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to excel in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing conditions.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a customer-centric approach.

  • Exceptional project management/organizational skills with ability to successfully manage multiple initiatives simultaneously. Attention to detail and accuracy is a must.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to coordinate with and influence internal stakeholders, including executives, product marketing leaders, and the sales team. Able to advocate persuasively for program strategy and results.
  • Self motivated and able to work autonomously. Able to manage competing priorities and adapt quickly to rapidly changing environments. You can marry high-level creativity and out-of-the-box-thinking with a very detail oriented, hands-on project management style.
