Job Description
Travel: Hybrid 2 days a week in our Houston Location
The Payroll Accountant is responsible for processing payroll operations for Privia’s Houston Gulf Coast employees and physician medical groups. This role requires coordination with multiple departments to ensure that payroll is executed accurately and timely. The Payroll Accountant is also responsible for various reporting and accounting operations functions related to payroll information and Month-End Close.
- Processing payroll for Privia Health Gulf Coast employees and multiple Privia Medical Groups
- Maintain confidentiality of all employee benefits, compensation, and employment information
- Set up new physicians and practices in payroll system (e.g. ADP) as needed
- Ensure payroll compliance with federal and state laws, regulations, internal policies and procedures
- Resolve payroll discrepancies and issues including but not limited to employee and physician pay and/or deductions on an as needed basis
- Work closely with HR to ensure new hires, terminations and any other employee changes are accurate
- Provide daily customer service and support to care centers including but not limited to providing requested reports, updating physician information, and answering additional questions
- Ensure employee 401k and HSA is being funded accurately to each payroll
- Prepare and upload month end close journal entries, perform GL account reconciliations, research unknown entries, and ad-hoc analysis related to payroll information and in other areas as needed
- Perform other tasks as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or a related field Preferred or equivalent relevant experience
- Strong knowledge of Texas State payroll
- Experience with data entry
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask
- Knowledge of general accounting procedures and internal controls
- Experience working in a payroll system; preferably ADP
- Experience working in accounting systems; preferably SAGE Intacct
- Must comply with all HIPAA rules and regulations
The salary range for this role is $65,000 to $75,000 in base pay and exclusive of any bonuses or benefits (medical, dental, vision, life, and pet insurance, 401K, paid time off, and other wellness programs). This role is also eligible for an annual bonus targeted at 10%.The base pay offered will be determined based on relevant factors such as experience, education, and geographic location.
