The Bids Specialist monitors bid opportunities, prepares proposals, maintains contracts, analyzes market data, and builds customer relationships to support sales efforts.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Monitor municipal databases, including daily email notifications to identify all municipal bid opportunities for key products
- Understand DuBois limitations and requirements regarding liabilities and risk and understanding municipal legal terminology and basic contract compliance requirements
- Preparing and assembly of formal bid package and proposals including but not limited to commercial responses, pricing, supporting commercial and technical documentation, and submit to customer in advance of bid deadline.
- Keep track of wins, losses and market direction around key products to establish market intelligence for future bids.
- Contract maintenance along with renewals/ extensions and subsequent requirements
- Compile data to construct graphical analyses, spreadsheet information, and submit reports the Account Manager/Customers
- Possess strong work ethic with a strong sales mentality and willingness to learn and grow
- Build robust sales pipeline that supports expected profitable growth
- Effectively work collaboratively with team members as well as adding functional support to management.
- Effectively build and maintain long-term customer relationships
- Comfortably making numerous cold calls monthly to gather sales and market intelligence
- Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable
MINIMUM POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
- 5+ years in sales or bidding processes and administrative functions preferably in chemicals sales/administration
- Proven ability to build/maintain customer relationships at various levels within the customer’s organization
- Ability to calculate identify and build cost structures, material margin, and gross margin calculations.
- Understand different units of measure and conversions between units of measure
- High achievement orientation; driven to perform and grow
- Strong consultation, negotiation, problem-resolution, and interpersonal skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel and Microsoft Dynamics or other CRM is a plus.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong time management skills and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced work environment with daily task deadlines.
