BigCommerce, named a 2024 "Best Place to Work" in Austin, is looking for an Accounting Manager who is a passionate, high energy accounting leader to manage the financial close process and assist with external and internal reporting and SEC filings. This position will be responsible for coordinating and executing the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close. The Accounting Manager will work closely with teams in Austin, TX and off-shore and will be an integral part of the Finance organization. The ability to evaluate new transactions and apply accounting standards is a key part of this job.
What You’ll Do:

Oversee the monthly and quarterly financial close process by coordinating off-shore and local resources. This includes account analysis and balance sheet reconciliations

Evaluate financial transactions and apply GAAP

Play a key and active role in the company’s SOX implementation and public company filings

Work with Finance to produce management’s monthly financials and cash flow reporting

Participate in evaluating and developing accounting policies and controls

Coordinate information for annual audits and tax filings

Collaborate with internal departments to enable business processes

Identify and implement process improvement opportunities

Support Controller and Assistant Controller on special projects and technical accounting research, as necessary
Who You Are:

3-5 years of experience
-
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, required
-
CPA Certification (or certification pending), required
-
Experience working at a public company is a plus
-
Experience with SOX is a plus
-
Experience using Intaact software is a plus
-
Public accounting experience is a plus
-
Managing performance and deliverables of others is a plus

Experience with cloud-based information systems

Thrives in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

Not all candidates will be eligible for the upper end of the salary range (or have the minimum apply to them), but rather, the exact salary will be dependent on the successful candidate’s location, relevant knowledge, skills, and qualifications.
Targeted salary range
$81,000—$137,100 USD
