You will join a team developing state-of-the-art general-purpose robots designed to operate in human spaces and with human tools. It is designed to work alongside humans, mobilize to human spaces, and manipulate the world around it.

We are seeking a Senior Electrical Manufacturing Test Engineer with a demonstrated proficiency in testing electro-mechanical systems across various stages of the product life cycle. In this role, you will collaborate closely with our engineering team to develop and execute system test campaigns, focusing on verifying the performance of our Apollo platform. The ideal candidate will contribute to the refinement and enhancement of product designs towards commercial deployment, while fostering a culture of excellence within the testing process.


Responsibilities:

  • Test Design and Development: Develop and implement comprehensive test plans and procedures for manufacturing processes. Design and maintain test fixtures and automation tools to ensure rigorous and repeatable testing.
  • Programming and Scripting: Utilize programming skills in Python (or equivalent languages) to create and maintain test scripts and software tools that support manufacturing test processes.
  • Database Management: Manage and analyze test data using SQL databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL). Experience with NoSQL databases is a plus. Develop and execute queries to support data analysis and reporting.
  • Collaboration with Engineering: Work closely with the Engineering team to integrate robot calibration processes into the manufacturing workflow. Provide feedback on design and manufacturing challenges to continuously improve product quality.
  • International Travel: Travel to our contract manufacturing facility in Mexico and other locations as needed to oversee and support testing activities. Ensure alignment with manufacturing standards and protocols.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain detailed documentation of test procedures, results, and defect logs. Provide regular reports and updates to management and engineering teams. · Robotics Expertise: Apply knowledge of robotics, including ROS (Robot Operating System), EtherCAT, and Linux, to troubleshoot and resolve issues encountered during testing.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure machine qualification through calibration, correlation, capability, repeatability, and reproducibility. Implement and maintain rigorous quality control measures to ensure the reliability of test results.


Skills and Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronic, Mechanical Engineering, or relevant experience.
  • 15+ Years of Test Engineering experience related to complex electro-mechanical products
  • Proven experience in product/system level testing, with a focus on component-level through assembly & post-build.
  • Strong understanding of robotics principles, pneumatics, servo motors, motion controllers, PLC, and PC-based control systems.
  • Familiarity with optics principles and their application in positioning and alignment machines.
  • Proficiency in root cause analysis, PFMEA, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
