Job Description:

Design, develop, and execute test automation suite for one or more products of Vertex’s payroll tax calculation software. Develop test strategy and analysis and define the configuration of test environments to facilitate testing needs. Design, develop, and maintain new or existing test automation frameworks. Contribute to reducing the testing technical debt as well as improving process efficiency by innovative ways or by bringing alignment with industry standards. Strategize, plan, and estimate assigned work as well as prepare and provide periodic status reports on project milestones. Troubleshoot technical issues to identify root causes and corrective improvements. Provide technical knowledge and assistance to other engineers. Support the project team in all testing efforts as well as support the Test Architect or Lead in championing the best practices. 

Education/Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Sciences and Technology, or a closely related field and experience in the following:

  • 4 years of experience in testing in large scale applications and web services;

  • 4 years of experience designing and building low-maintenance, robust and scalable automation frameworks;

  • 4 years of experience using Python or Java to support automation;

  • 4 years of experience using Microsoft Visual Development Suite;

  • 3 years of experience in API test automation using SOAP or REST and UI test automation using Selenium or equivalent test automation tool;

  • 3 years of experience in developing and maintaining test automation suites and frameworks;

  • 3 years of experience in Agile software development; and

  • 2 years of experience using the GitHub automation framework to test products.

  • Ability to work 100% remotely from anywhere in the continental U.S.
