Temporary Associate Sound Designer

Position Summary

Job Summary:
The Associate Composer/Sound Designer works to translate existing slot machine game sounds and music, in their entirety for all platforms, while maintaining the best possible quality, playability, and "spirit" of the game. With minimal guidance from designers, utilize the latest software tools to provide music, sound effects and voice recording to our games.
Qualifications
Essential Job Functions:

• Assist sound department with creating sounds and music for original IP slot machines.
• Review the game with programmers to determine that all assets are being used correctly.
• Understanding the original slot machine, the class of slot it belongs to, and its play type (GPlus, MoneyBurst, etc)
• Understanding the platform each slot machine will be converted to, and the inherent technical and quality issues that will need to be dealt with during the conversion process for that platform (Web ; Mobile)
• Ensuring that each Slot Machine is properly and completely delivered to SciPlay in a useable format
• Ensuring that each Slot Machine is delivered with proper reference materials for use of sounds
• Contacting Light and Wonder entities to acquire any missing assets
• If it is a class of slot machine previously unconverted, the Sound Designer will be responsible for providing documentation on conversion methodology, how the assets will be implemented by Programming, and which assets will be useable in future conversions
• Working with Programming to ensure that converted assets are ideal for:
  • working properly and efficiently on the platform for which Slot is being converted
  • not requiring an unusually long conversion process
  • meeting SciPlay's quality standards, and/or maintaining the "Spirit" of the original slot game
• Working with Programming to create an efficient use of converted assets, particularly when assets are reused in multiple slot machines.
• Testing and implementation of sound and music assets

Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Music or equivalent relevant experience
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

• Experience with digital audio workstations
• Ability to quickly learn and utilize proprietary software
• Experience in MS Office
• Written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to follow direction and accept constructive criticism
• Excellent organizational skills; problem solving skills, and high attention to detail
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and meet multiple concurrent deadlines
• Sound/music production knowledge (sound formats, mastering, etc.)
• Music knowledge (music theory, notation, piano, etc.)
• Ability to play one or more instruments proficiently
• Ability to set up and operate recording hardware for a variety of applications (microphones, cables, mixers, etc.)
