Your Responsibilities

  • Manage the analysis and computations in preparation of Forms 5471/5472, 8858, 8865, 1118 and other international tax reporting/disclosures for the US federal tax return, including GILTI, FDII, and Subpart F analysis and computations.
  • Provide support and analysis related to the quarterly income tax provision of the organization’s international operations in accordance with ASC 740, including GILTI, FDII, and Subpart analysis computations.
  • Manage the analysis and computations as it relates to Pillar Two, including analysis as to the applicability of safe harbors, any top-up tax, and the preparation of the GloBE Information Return.
  • Manage foreign tax filings related to certain foreign subsidiaries.
  • Collect data and provide analysis regarding transfer pricing requirements, including BEPS, DEMPE analysis, and country-by-country reporting.
  • Assist with local country tax audits, VAT/GST compliance, and FATCA requirements.
  • Manage and prepare the required forms for tax treaty application on US and foreign withholding taxes.
  • Provide general support to finance (billing, treasury, accounting) on international tax matters.

Your Experience, Skills & Competencies

  • 4+ years of corporate international tax experience with an accounting firm and/or large multinational corporation required
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required
  • CPA and/or MS in Taxation or LLM preferred
  • Significant experience with the international aspects of ASC 740, Accounting for Income Taxes required
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel required; Alteryx proficiency preferred
  • Solid analytical, mathematical, and research skills required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills required
  • Strong attention to detail and highly organized required

Your Team

This is an individual contributor role that will report to the Director, International Tax. You will have 4 peer teammates and collaborate with cross functional departments on a regular basis.

Your Work Location

As our International Tax Manager, you will have the option of being fully remote, working from your home office; OR, working in a hybrid environment, up to four days per week in office from our beautiful, state-of-the-art worldwide corporate headquarters in North Bethesda, MD. Less than 15 miles from Washington, DC, we’re located one block away from the North Bethesda Metro station, with service on the Red Line and the MARC Brunswick line, easy access to I-270, and plenty of free parking provided by Choice Hotels.

Salary Range

The salary range for this position is $120,000 to $128,000 annually. In addition to the annual salary, this role is eligible for an annual bonus based on the terms of Choice's Management Incentive Plan (MIP).

The pay range listed is for this position and is what Choice Hotels reasonably expects to pay. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. An employee’s pay position within the pay range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, and business or organizational needs.
