Role Overview:

As the SVP, Commerce, you will be responsible for leading and integrating both the Commerce Media and Commerce Operations teams with a primary focus on Amazon and other retail marketplaces. This leadership role is pivotal in driving strategic growth, operational excellence, and innovation within the commerce space. Your ability to balance media strategy with operational execution will ensure seamless performance across all client accounts, positioning the company at the forefront of retail media and marketplace operations.
 

Responsibilities:

Strategic Commerce Leadership:

  • Drive the development and execution of comprehensive commerce strategies, integrating media efforts (Commerce Media) with operational processes (Commerce Operations) to maximize client success across key platforms, including Amazon, Walmart, and other retail marketplaces.

  • Collaborate with senior leadership to ensure that the Commerce division’s initiatives support the agency’s overarching goals, driving differentiation and market leadership.

  • Oversee the VP of Commerce Media to enhance cross-functional synergy between teams, ensuring a unified approach to performance marketing and operations.

Commerce Operations Strategy:

  • Oversee the Commerce Operations team, ensuring exceptional execution in areas such as inventory management, pricing strategies, and forecasting.

  • Foster innovation in operational processes, identifying efficiencies and technologies that streamline workflows and improve client outcomes.

  • Innovate through developing a vision for productized solutions that enable our delivery teams to be more efficient, and provide clients with consistent quality of delivery. 

  • Identify and drive initiatives focused on performance optimization, ensuring that clients benefit from cutting-edge practices in retail operations and supply chain management.

Revenue Growth & Performance:

  • Responsible for revenue targets and performance metrics for the Commerce division. Ensure that primary KPIs, including new sales growth, net retention, and same store growth, are met across all commerce channels.

  • Continuously analyze performance data and marketplace trends to drive optimization, ensuring that strategies are tailored to client-specific needs and marketplace shifts.

Client Relationships & Expansion:

  • Serve as the Executive Sponsor for high-value clients, providing strategic leadership and insights that drive long-term partnerships and client satisfaction.

  • Collaborate with business development teams to identify growth opportunities, expanding the agency’s footprint across existing and new commerce channels.

  • Oversee the VP of Commerce Media’s efforts  to ensure cohesive strategies that improve visibility, engagement, and conversion for clients across marketplaces.

Team Leadership & Development:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team across both media and operations, fostering a collaborative, results-driven environment.

  • Cultivate a culture of continuous learning, ensuring that team members stay ahead of industry trends and best practices in commerce marketing and operations.

  • Partner with HR to drive recruitment and training initiatives that support the team’s growth and success.

Industry Expertise & Thought Leadership:

  • Stay at the forefront of industry trends, emerging platforms, and technology advancements in the commerce space.

  • Represent the agency at industry conferences, client events, and thought leadership forums, positioning the agency as a leader in commerce media and operations.

  • Drive innovation by continuously identifying new opportunities to enhance the Commerce division’s service offerings, helping clients stay competitive in a rapidly evolving marketplace.

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience in commerce, digital marketing, or related fields, with a strong focus on Amazon and other retail marketplaces.

  • Proven track record of leading and scaling commerce teams, driving both media performance and operational excellence.

  • Deep expertise in retail media strategies, retail technology, marketplace dynamics, and operational execution.

  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and inspire cross-functional teams.

  • Excellent client relationship management skills, with a focus on driving long-term growth and success.

The annual base salary range for this role’s listed level is currently $200,000 - $230,000 plus performance bonus of up to 25%.  Grade level and salary ranges are determined through interviews and a review of education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities of the applicant, equity with other team members, and alignment with market data. We will provide more information on our benefits and equity upon requests. Sales roles are also eligible for incentive pay targeted up to or over 100% of the offered base salary (no cap).  Disclosure as required by the Colorado Equal Pay for > Equal Work Act, C.R.S. § 8-5-101 et seq.
