About the team and the role:

An eBay company, TCGplayer is on a quest to be the most trusted trading card game (TCG) platform — connecting and empowering the hobby community. Founded by and for TCG enthusiasts, we operate a global marketplace, and create tools, technologies and solutions that help small businesses simply and profitably sell TCGs at scale.

At TCGplayer, the Technical Product Manager team is crucial in shaping the future of our products through a strong focus on technical expertise. We collaborate with product managers to ensure our product roadmap is visionary yet achievable by engineering, operations, and support teams. Your responsibilities will include interdepartmental coordination, technology assessment, and contributing to product vision and market research.

As a Technical Product Manager focused on computer vision and embedded systems, you will be at the forefront of integrating advanced visual recognition capabilities into our product offerings. This role requires a deep understanding of both the technical intricacies and strategic implications of computer vision technologies. You will work closely with engineering teams to translate complex technical requirements into actionable development plans, ensuring that our solutions not only meet but exceed market demands. By leveraging your expertise, you will drive innovation, enhance product functionality, and ensure seamless integration within embedded systems, ultimately contributing to a more efficient and intuitive user experience. Your leadership will be instrumental in navigating the challenges of cutting-edge technology development and deployment, positioning our products as leaders in the industry.

What you will accomplish:

  • Will drive the successful execution of product development by fostering collaboration and coordination among product managers and technical teams, ensuring alignment with business goals.

  • Assess and implement necessary technologies, contribute to the product vision, and act as a product owner to keep stakeholders informed. By identifying risks and leading project teams, they will ensure seamless execution and effective communication.

  • Manage requirements, ensure implementation aligns with expectations, and maintain documentation. Additionally, they will stay informed about industry trends, recommend new technologies, and define success criteria for testing and product acceptance, all while keeping the technical roadmap current and aligned with shifting priorities.

What you will bring:

  • 5 plus years of experience as a Technical Product Owner or Technical Product Manager or Software development, designing and developing software solutions.

  • Expert in technical product management and development methodologies, including Agile and modern customer- and design-centric practices, including the ability to establish standards and conventions for informed decisions, dependency management, and portfolio delivery.

  • Proficiency with quantitative reasoning and modeling, including metric-informed decisioning, portfolio pricing and revenue models, and crafting project- to portfolio-level operating metrics and KPIs.

  • A relentless focus on customers and solving their needs, with experience deriving objectives from customer insights; a desire to regularly, directly interact with customers, and when appropriate, travel to meet with them, and TCGplayer HQ.

  • A self-directed practice and ability to achieve results while proactively seeking out discussion and feedback from leadership, peers, and other team members on major results, portfolio planning, and team processes.

  • Experience with product lines analogous to TCGplayer: primarily ecommerce marketplace and SMB SaaS experience (supply chain, data analytics, content, mobile apps, and finance and customer service tooling experience is also valuable).

  • Excellent communications skills with the ability to share and ensure understanding of sophisticated concepts to a variety of audiences, both with internal team members and external customers; a bias towards operational scalability and documentation.

  • Strong technical skills with understanding and/or hands-on experience in software development, mobile and web technologies, and data platforms; comfort with infrastructure and internal systems considerations for successful product development programs.

  • Undergraduate and/or graduate degrees in computer science, engineering, or related experience.

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment in Colorado, Minnesota, Texas, Illinois, and Pennsylvania is expected in the range below.

$150,000-165,000
