Overview

This is a full-time remote role for a Senior Full Stack Software Engineer with proven experience in a combination of ReactJS, Python, Graphql, AWS DynamoDB, AWS Lambda & ECS.


As part of our small but mighty tight-knit engineering team, your contributions will have an immediate and visible impact on our product and company trajectory. You will have responsibilities across the codebase and directly influence our technical direction. Your expertise and your ability to operate within the team will be essential to our collective success. This is an opportunity to make a meaningful difference where your work directly translates to customer value and company growth, rather than becoming just another cog in a large organizational machine.

You will be reporting to the VP of Engineering and you will be working in tight collaboration with other engineers and members across the organization to develop and maintain our product, internal tools and our production infrastructure.

This role involves contributing to all aspects of an application, including front-end, back-end, APIs, tests, CI/CD, AWS Production infrastructure, and participation in our on-call rotation to ensure continuous service availability for our customers.


Responsibilities

• Design and implement software solutions to complex problems with a focus on quality, maintainability, scalability and performance

• Contribute to building the team’s knowledge by contributing to technical documentation and API specifications

• Collaborate with other engineers and cross-functionally to deliver high-quality products

• Contribute across the stack in support of the team’s goals

• Conduct code reviews

• Monitor our services in production and, as part of an on-call rotation, provide a measured response to alerts and failures

• Participate in all activities of the software development processes


What you bring

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, or a related field

• 7+ years of experience in software engineering

• Strong proficiency in Frontend: ReactJS / Apollo GraphQL Client or similar technologies

• Strong proficiency in Backend: Python, GraphQL, AWS DynamoDB, AWS Lambda & ECS or similar technologies

• Expertise monitoring, operating and optimizing web scale production infrastructure

• Demonstrated expertise in software design patterns, algorithms, data structures

• Applied experience in automated software testing techniques from unit to end-to-end tests.

• Ability to work efficiently within a team setting, as well as being self-motivated and able to work independently

• Strong verbal and written communication skills


Big plus if you have the following

• Experience with Agile Methodologies. e.g. Kanban

• Experience applying DEVOPS principles in a team context

• Experience applying Infrastructure as code

• Proven experience in our domains CRM, Calendaring, Scheduling, Learning Management Systems.

• Proven experience with Payments Processing (Stripe or other)
