Location: This is a hybrid position located in our Austin, TX office.

Position Summary:

We are looking for a Sr. FPGA Design Engineer to join our Trend Micro FPGA team in Austin Texas. Trend Micro has been developing advanced multi-million gate FPGAs to accelerate network packet processing and security functions for over 20 years.  The FPGA team develops leading-edge, high-performance implementations of encryption/decryption, pattern matching, and data extraction/analysis functions among others, as well as several system interfaces. 

Responsibilities:

As a member of the FPGA Design Team, you will be responsible for the design and delivery of RTL for a wide variety of IP modules and FPGAs which will be deployed world-wide in our network security platforms.  Specific responsibilities include:

  • Design and development of RTL modules based on high-level requirements

  • Make enhancements to existing IPs or FPGAs

  • Work with Verification Team members to debug simulation and lab issues

  • Take FPGA designs from RTL source to final bitstream

  • Analyze timing and resource utilization reports and make changes as needed for timing closure

Qualifications:

  • BS or MS in EE (Electrical Engineering) or CE (Computer Engineering) or equivalent

  • 5~10 years experience in RTL design for FPGAs or ASICs

  • Experience in RTL design preferably with large FPGAs

  • Experience in HDL (System Verilog is preferred, VHDL is acceptable)

  • Experience with Xilinx Vivado is a plus

  • Experience in lab debug

  • Experience with Synopsys VCS is a plus

  • Experience with Networking Protocols (e.g., Ethernet, IP, TCP/UDP) is a plus

  • Experience with AXI4 and AXI4-Stream is a plus

  • Experience with PCI-Express is a plus

  • Python/TCL/BASH Experience is a plus

  • Good communications and interfacing skills
