Genesys is seeking a self-motivated Sr. Director of Technical Revenue Accounting to manage the coordination of our technical analysis and development of processes to ensure compliance with ASC606.

The Sr. Director of Technical Revenue Accounting will engage with the business to provide revenue recognition compliant solutions including oversight of large contract review, non-standard sales deals, evaluation and development of new product contract structure and supporting the development of reporting solutions for our internal stakeholders.

This role requires both technical accounting and strong interpersonal skills to partner closely with Revenue Operations, IT, FP&A, Legal, External Reporting, Sales and other teams across the company.

Location: US Remote (fully remote across US, not limited to the states the job posting is tagged to)

Responsibilities:

  • Evaluation of the revenue accounting for current and contemplated contractual arrangements under ASC 606
  • Provide thought leadership, guidance, and strategy on technical revenue recognition matters impacting the business; providing guidance to team members and other cross functional teams on how to apply revenue recognition guidelines for SaaS and on-premises offerings.
  • Develop and enhance processes and controls around revenue related financial metrics.
  • Contribute to the development of accounting solutions for enterprise projects, new product offerings and process simplification and improvements.
  • Work closely with members of accounting, legal, Deals Desk, FP&A, and Order Management.
  • Ownership of maintenance and enhancement of revenue accounting policies for the Company
  • Supporting the preparation of revenue related financial statement footnotes and MD&A.
  • Assist in managing internal and external audits over revenue
  • Assist IT in the testing and deployment of applications that impact revenue recognition
  • Administer and streamline use of RevPro, NetSuite and other information systems for revenue transactions
  • Assist in compliance with other external statutory reporting requirements
  • Ad hoc special projects

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or relevant field
  • Minimum of 10 years relevant work experience with at least 6 years at a Big 4 accounting firm is a must + SaaS/tech industry experience
  • CPA is a must
  • Subject matter expert in ASC 606
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong multi-tasking skills and flexibility to switch from one project to the next
  • Highly collaborative with the ability to effectively manage cross-functional projects

Compensation:

This role has a market-competitive salary with an anticipated base compensation range listed below. Actual salaries will vary depending on a candidate’s experience, qualifications, skills, and location. This role might also be eligible for a commission or performance-based bonus opportunities.  

$169,800.00 - $315,200.00
