In the role of the Senior Director, Marketing Technology Platforms, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to join our team. This is a highly visible, client-facing, leadership role that will govern a dynamic, evolving marketing technology team that will serve a large number of clients across varying industries and technologies. The candidate must have a background with marketing technology platforms from a technical perspective, be able to apply strategic thinking, as well as a knowledge of data, data management, and data integration. The role will need to keep up to date on the latest trends including Artificial Intelligence (AI) as well as have the ability to evaluate and learn new technologies. The Senior Director, Marketing Technology Platforms, will head up a growing team which includes architects and engineers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary technical liaison between client stakeholders, client partners,  architects, engineers, and business strategy for MarTech solutions
  • Design, develop and articulate comprehensive and holistic multi-channel MarTech  solutions for multiple clients on varying technologies
  • Lead up the implementation and integration of MarTech applications and data into Customer Data Platforms (CDP), Customer Experience Platforms (CXP), Customer Relationship Management (CRM), Loyalty Platforms, Email Service Providers (ESP), and other Marketing Automation, Journey Management, and Campaign tooling
  • Lead client meetings, cement partnerships and become the trusted advisor
  • Work within client platforms and technologies when possible, but also know when to propose customization to overcome platform limitations
  • Identify broader opportunities beyond the immediate client plans and technologies
  • Outline detailed tasks and timelines in our Statements of Work (SOWs) as well as staffing requirements and pricing through our Project Estimation Templates (PETs)
  • Translate complex technical concepts into clear, actionable strategies
  • Discretely provide client advice on industry trends and when to move past legacy platforms to next generation platforms
  • Lead up, coach, and mentor your team on technical and client-facing skills

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • 10+ years implementing MarTech, particularly in CDP, CXP, CRM, Loyalty, Marketing Automation, ESP, Journey Management, Campaign Management and Digital tooling
  • In depth knowledge of various MarTech platforms, along with a broad understanding of the technology within the wider MarTech ecosystem
  • Analytical mindset capable of articulating the advantages and challenges associated with different MarTech tools
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to convey complex ideas in a clear and concise manner
  • Experience in multi-channel sales & marketing strategies including message delivery to Email, SMS, Direct Mail, Digital & Mobile
  • Data architecture, data stewardship, data integration, and governance background
  • Experience with sourcing and integrating data for reporting and dashboards
  • A critical eye on generated reporting to identify issues and inaccuracies
  • Proven ability to be calm under pressure and handle challenging client situations
  • Proactive approach to client relationships and problem-solving, not waiting for the client to bring up issues before they are addressed
  • Project scoping and estimation skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field

Desired Attributes:

  • Natural marketing sensibilities and strategic mindset
  • Experience with Customer Experience Platforms (CXP) including Braze, Bloomreach, or Zeta Global is highly advantageous
  • Experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SFMC), Salesforce Data Cloud, Adobe Experience Cloud, Snowflake, Twilio Segment & Amperity is very relevant
  • Experience working in cloud environments such as AWS or Azure
  • Experience with API Gateways (e.g. MuleSoft, Apigee) in relation to data governance
  • Ability to lead up multiple projects with multiple clients at the same time
  • Eagerness to learn and ramp up on new technologies including AI tooling
  • Excellent storytelling abilities to convey technical strategies effectively
  • Previous multi-client consulting experience would be ideal
  • Ability to deliver constructive feedback and manage client expectations

This role is critical in bridging the gap between technical possibilities and marketing strategies, requiring a unique blend of technical expertise, business acumen, and interpersonal skills.
