The Sr. Director, Consultant Relations and Partnerships will play a critical role in Virta’s continued growth by ensuring the market understands our unique offerings and differentiated outcomes.  This leader will serve as a player-coach, overseeing a team dedicated to cultivating strong relationships with consultants and brokers while also forging strategic partnerships within the broader ecosystem. The ideal candidate is a skilled storyteller and relationship builder, capable of inspiring and guiding a team toward initiatives that deliver measurable impact for Virta.

Responsibilities

  • Define and execute on a strategy to improve understanding of and appreciation for Virta among consulting houses, brokerages, and ecosystem partners.

  • Provide effective people leadership and performance management for individual contributors working to advance Virta’s standing with specific consulting houses, brokerages, and ecosystem partners.

  • Align organization around key performance indicators (KPIs) that connect team’s activities to top of funnel, win rate, client retention, and other commercial objectives. Ensure accurate reporting.

  • Partner effectively with Sales and Customer Success leadership to establish cross-team strategies and workflows that support our growth goals.

  • Partner effectively with Product Marketing to create high-quality educational material for consultants and ecosystem partners. Provide feedback back to Product Marketing about market response to Virta and competitive activity to inform ongoing from product-market fit.

  • Collaborate with team and Enterprise Marketing to determine an effective conference and events strategy – including Virta-sponsored events – to support relationship and brand building. Represent Virta at appropriate forums.

90 Day Plan

Within your first 90 days at Virta, we expect you will do the following:

  • Organize your team around core KPIs, ensuring alignment with broader Commercial metrics and operating cadence. Confirm team structure supports objectives; make adjustments as needed.

  • Determine key consultant/broker focus areas for coming quarters (e.g., priority consultancies, geographic markets, critical initiatives etc.). Adjust events strategy as needed.

  • Determine key ecosystem partner focus areas for coming quarters (e.g., priority orgs/verticals, critical initiatives etc.). 

  • Begin to grow pipeline (new opportunities from consultant-driven and ecosystem-partner driven leads) and influence win-rate and existing customer satisfaction (consultant engagement).

Must-Haves

  • Strong team leadership – Able to create clarity around objectives, instill a sense of urgency, and effectively coach team members while fostering a high-trust, high-performance culture.

  • Exceptional storytelling and listening skills – As a key representative of Virta, the Sr. Director, Consultant Relations and Partnerships must be a compelling presenter, adept at tailoring narratives to diverse consultant and partner audiences while addressing strategic and technical questions with confidence.

  • Data-driven decision-making – Skilled at identifying critical success metrics and making informed decisions about the team’s time and Virta’s investments to maximize impact.

  • Relevant experience – Ideal candidates will have 15+ years in healthcare benefits, preferably with experience as a benefits consultant and/or leading Consultant Relations at a digital health company selling to self-insured employers. Established relationships with employer benefit consultants and contracting experience are highly valued.

As part of your duties at Virta, you may come in contact with sensitive patient information that is governed by HIPAA. As a remote-first company, our team is spread across various locations with office hubs in Denver and San Francisco. We currently do not hire in the following states: AK, AR, DE, HI, ME, MS, NM, OK, SD, VT, WI.
