Job Description
About the role:
The Sr. Data Quality Engineer collaborates with a multidisciplinary Agile team to build high-quality data pipelines that drive analytic solutions. This role focuses on integrating and managing data to generate insights, enabling advanced data-driven decision-making capabilities.
Responsibilities:

  • Design and maintain a Data Quality Framework (DQF) which provides an industry-developed best practices guide for the improvement of data quality and allows the organization to better leverage the data quality programs and to ensure a continuously improving cycle for the generation of master data
  • Identify Data Quality issues across various data sources as they occur, along with any risks, mitigation plan and proactive vulnerabilities within the database
  • Expert in Enterprise Data quality capabilities with proven experience implementing and enhancing data quality tools such as Informatica IDQ
  • Lead the strategy, development and implementation of data quality standards, processes, and controls and maintain appropriate business rules documentation.
  • Analyze and translate client's needs into an industry-leading enterprise data architecture that seamlessly integrates the current system and data asset with the new strategy
  • Develop the vision for an ever-evolving Data Quality improvement strategy that not only satisfies current needs but can be easily adapted to future needs as new sources of data input and requirements for data output are identified
  • Responsible for designing, testing, deploying, and documenting data quality procedures and their outputs
  • Partner with data stewards to provide summary results of data quality analysis, which will be used to make decisions regarding how to measure business rules and quality of the data
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and ensure data quality throughout the data lifecycle.
  • Develop and execute data validation and testing strategies to ensure data integrity.
  • Implement and manage data quality solutions using Informatica and Databricks.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to junior data quality engineers and analysts.
  • Direct the development of key standards, guidance, and policies as a leader of at least one data quality team, along with an extended collection of business data stewards
  • Use in-dept knowledge and expertise with data quality and master data management standards together with and clear view on enterprise leadership and program management to advice on multiple levels of complexity in data management
  • Develop KPI's and SLA's confirming that the Takeda Data Quality and Data Services model is available, communicated, understood and utilized effectively in pursuit of business objectives and strategic vision
  • Stay up-to-date with industry best practices and emerging trends in data quality management.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Proven experience (5+ years) developing DQ operating model, DQ policies & guidelines as well as DQ standards & best practices with a focus on Informatica Data Quality
  • Ability to make complex decision and support the enterprise strategy
  • Previousl directed the development of key standards, guidance, and policies as a leader of at least one data quality team, along with an extended collection of business data stewards
  • Strong proficiency in SQL, data profiling tools, and data quality tools such as Informatica.
  • Experience with data integration and ETL processes.
  • Hands-on experience with Databricks and cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Strong understanding of data architecture principles and best practices.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and a passion for data accuracy.
  • Strategic and collaborative partner able to influence and drive accountability across organizational and domain boundaries
  • Ability to advocate for needed change across the organization that add to our success.
  • Competence to coordinate, manage and complete primary tasks and special projects with minimal oversight
  • Must be able to develop and maintain strong relationships globally
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of Python, R, or other programming languages and experience with data integration tools
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
  • Experience in a regulated industry such as healthcare, finance, or pharmaceuticals.
  • Related leadership experience with Cloud Technology
  • Strong knowledge of Data Quality improvement tools such as Informatica IDQ
  • Extensive experience with and success in leading projects from inception to production rollout and support
  • Hands-on experience working with low-latency real-time application requirements
