Job Description

Software Engineer 

  

Business Line Description: 

TEL's new Integrated Circuit Design Solutions (ICDS) team is seeking a Software Engineer to help develop our group’s semiconductor analytics applications. This rapidly expanding team is charged with creating new data-driven products for cutting-edge SoC customers. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in both data pipelining and web applications. The primary role of the Software Engineer will involve designing, implementing, and maintaining the data ETL pipeline and web application. 

  

Job Summary: 

  • Collaborate closely with IC design and testing teams to gather and comprehend requirements 
  • Design, implement and manage the data pipeline that sources data from various systems and unifies the data model for analytics and reporting 
  • Build and optimize backend services supporting Data Portal features 
  • Develop and maintain frontend components using modern JavaScript frameworks (e.g., React, Next.js) 
  • Ensure code quality through testing and code reviews 
  • Incorporate best practices into the development process 

  

Basic Qualifications: 

  • 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience 
  • 2+ years of design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience 
  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language, such as C++, C#, Java, Python etc. 
  • Experience with data pipeline optimization, data visualization and exploration. 
  • Experience working on and delivering end to end projects independently 
  • Experience with full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience 
  • Bachelor or Master of Science degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Information System, IT. 

  

Preferred skills and experience: 

  • 7+ years of full software development experiences 
  • Experience working on collaborative projects in a team environment. 
  • Experience with at least one modern database system, such as: MySQL, PostgreSQL, MS SQL Server etc. 
  • Familiarity with Typescript, Python, Next.js framework a plus 
  • Experience with Azure, terraform cloud development 

Physical Demands and Work Conditions 
The physical demands described herein are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This job operates in an office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets. This is a largely sedentary role; however, some filing is required, which would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary. This position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies, up to 35 pounds. This position also requires 4 to 6 hours per day at a computer screen/keyboard.
