About the Team:

We are looking for a software engineer to join our Platform team. The Platform team is a group of experienced engineers managing infrastructure, improving developer velocity, and ensuring the security, reliability, and scalability of our software. We are highly engaged in shaping the engineering culture at Vercel, and operate as “the execution arm” of the CTO’s office.

About the Role:

  • Build and maintain the API control plane that powers vercel.com and the infrastructure that supports it.
  • Operate as “Customer 0” — we use Vercel to build Vercel and act as the primary feedback mechanism for our product teams.
  • Own codebase health, iteration velocity, and developer experience for all of Vercel engineering.

About You:

  • Deploying and operating Node.js microservices in production
  • Deploying to managed Kubernetes clusters
  • Operating and optimizing CI/CD systems to improve developer velocity

Bonus If You:

  • Have a deep understanding of the JavaScript, the web, and the npm ecosystem.
  • Are opinionated about how to write tests, structure code, and software engineering practices

The San Francisco, CA base pay range for this role is $196,000-$294,000. This salary range is an estimate. Actual salary will be based on job related skills, experience and location. Pay ranges outside San Francisco may be  adjusted based on employee location.  The total compensation package also includes benefits and equity-based compensation. Your recruiter can share more about the specific pay range for your location during the hiring process.
