We are looking to add a Senior UX Designer to our team of creative and curious problem solvers. In this role, you’ll be responsible for leading the UX phase of projects, contributing to overall project strategy, and collaborating with clients, project managers, UI designers, and developers to deliver effective websites and apps that meet both our clients’ needs and their users’ needs.

The Senior UX Designer is comfortable with leading large-scale projects and complex, enterprise-level opportunities. You can dive beneath the surface to find the "why" and distill those findings into actionable next steps to move the project forward. You are a strong communicator able to command a conversation to lead stakeholders through decisions assertively. You are a curious problem-solver and motivated self-starter who can forecast weeks into the future as you come out of the Discovery phase. As the owner of the strategy you proactively maintain documentation to allow you to be a resource for key decisions in the visual design and development phases. You’re deeply invested in your projects to the extent you keep a pulse on scope and risk management and collaborate with project management to illuminate areas where additional support or potential scaling-up efforts are needed. In other words, you are driven by a passion for crafting elegant, user-centered solutions, prioritizing project health and outcomes, and thriving in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead stakeholder workshops and conversations with clients to better understand project goals and establish consensus
  • Perform user research (surveys, interviews, focus groups, moderated/unmoderated testing, tree testing, etc) and interpret results
  • Perform usability audits of existing websites and apps, documenting where they deviate from best practices
  • Diagram user flows, build sitemaps, and define information architecture
  • Use Figma to wireframe pages, screens, features, and flows in an organized and easy-to-understand way
  • Lead client presentations, facilitate feedback, and drive progress and momentum while staying within project scope
  • Document functionality for designers, developers, and clients
  • Collaborate with project managers to define project plans and timelines, and to keep those up-to-date as projects progress

About you

You have:

  • Deep fluency and practical knowledge of usability best practices
  • Creative thinking and problem-solving skills
  • An ability to command a conversation and lead stakeholders through decisions
  • Strong understanding of accessibility and inclusive design principles and WCAG guidelines, and their impact on usability and user interfaces

You have experience with:

  • Leading presentations, workshops, exercises, etc.
  • Facilitating feedback, asking good questions, and driving consensus
  • User research and user testing methods
  • Communicating complex, interactive design concepts clearly and persuasively across different audiences and varying levels of the organization
