Senior UI Artist

Position Summary

SciPlay is a leading developer and publisher of digital games on mobile and web platforms, providing highly entertaining free-to-play games that millions of people play every day for their authenticity, engagement and fun.
SciPlay currently offers nine core games, including social casino games Jackpot Party Casino, Gold Fish Casino Slots, Hot Shot Casino and Quick Hit Slots, and casual games MONOPOLY Slots, Bingo Showdown, 88 Fortunes Slots, Backgammon Live, and Solitaire Daily Break with offices all over the world!

We are looking for a Senior UI Artist for one of our flagship titles at SciPlay.  This team member would be responsible for helping define best in class UI aesthetics for the game. The candidate would be a part of the creative team and help re-invigorate the game UI with a clean, modern and beautiful aesthetic.  They would work closely with the Art Director to help create a UI art bible to be used across the game. Finally, they would pre-visualize key UI moments across the game’s various features.

Essential Job Functions:

• Design, create and implement UI with an expert understanding of mobile gaming as well as an understanding of current trends in the best Social Games
• Work with the Art Director and team leads to create a best in class UI Art Bible for other artists to work from.
• Work with the development team to ensure UI art quality from mockup phase to final in-game implementation
• Create 2D mockups to pre-visualize key featyure screens in pre-production
• Create animatics to pre-visualize UI transitions, micro-animations, and other moments of delight throughout the game’s UI.
• Work with tech art to implement UI art and animations directly in engine – Unity3D
• Respond positively to feedback and iterate on UI, upgrading graphics and adding polish via animations and VFX
• Maintain assets libraries and textures atlases with a high level of proficiency and organization.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

• Excellent 2D aesthetic: composition, color, shape language, value, visual hierarchy
• Excellent knowledge of fonts, logos, vectors and typography layout
• Expert understanding of Adobe Creative Suite for UI design
• Good understanding of After Effects or other UI animation pre-visualization tools
• Experience in creating clear icon design, fluid screen transitions and delightful micro-interaction animations.
• 5+ years UI design experience
• Shipped mobile apps in casual, free to play or social casino genres.
• Experience in Unity is a plus.
