Senior Software Engineer (Elixir)

NICE/VoApps is seeking a talented Senior Software Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will contribute to the development of innovative telephony solutions, enhancing our contact center offerings with cutting-edge algorithms and technologies.

At VoApps, a part of NICE, we provide groundbreaking voicemail solutions to help businesses reach their mobile contacts efficiently and compliantly. Our patented DirectDrop Voicemail SaaS solution is transforming call center operations, improving customer engagement and operational efficiency.

We are expanding our team to accelerate the delivery of our feature roadmap. If you're an experienced, self-motivated engineer who is passionate about building high-quality software and contributing to impactful products, we'd love to hear from you!

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Design and develop high-quality, performant, reliable, and maintainable software.
  • Collaborate in brainstorming, planning, prioritizing, and implementing new features.
  • Work closely with colleagues to ensure software designs meet functional and technical requirements.
  • Develop unit, integration, and UI automation tests as necessary.
  • Investigate, triage, and resolve production issues.

Required Skills and Experience

  • 5+ years of professional software development experience.
  • Proficiency in the Elixir programming language.
  • Strong understanding of software engineering principles, theories, and methodologies.
  • Strong understanding of the Linux/*Nix command line.
  • Creative problem-solving skills and excellent debugging and root-cause analysis abilities.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently to resolve production issues, document findings, and implement solutions.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Experience with or a willingness to learn SIP telephony.
  • Familiarity with Phoenix Framework.
  • Experience with Ruby and/or the Ruby on Rails
  • Knowledge of AWS and Heroku
  • Experience with front-end web technologies (JavaScript, HTML, CSS).
  • Background in developing telephony systems (SIP, RTP).
  • Familiarity with Docker and Docker-Compose.
  • Familiarity with test automation and performance monitoring tools (e.g., Specs).

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent experience.
