APrime is an engineering-first boutique tech firm with deep experience designing domain-driven solutions that address our clients’ most critical and challenging technical problems.  We work with highly-specialized disruptors within heavily regulated verticals like healthcare, finance and education, and thrive at the intersection of big data, software design, and distributed cloud systems.

We’re looking for independent, driven technologists who have experience using cutting edge technology to solve complex problems. If you’re excited about building products that redefine industries, let’s connect!

Responsibilities:

  • Lead or collaborate on initiatives that enable increased engineering productivity for APrime's clients through platform improvements and influencing best practices.
  • Contribute to complex cross-team engineering efforts focused on cloud compute, networking, storage, and/or application infrastructure.
  • Design and write clean, maintainable, well-documented code.
  • Work with colleagues and client teams to extract requirements, set expectations around delivery timelines, and architect cloud-based solutions with minimal direction.

Requirements:

  • 7+ years of professional experience in a full-time Software Engineering, SRE, or DevOps / Infrastructure / Platform Engineering role
  • 3+ years of experience developing object-oriented software in a modern language (e.g. Python, Go, TypeScript), with a commitment to high code and documentation quality
  • Substantial experience with managing infrastructure on a major cloud platform (AWS, GCP, Azure)
  • Experience working with SQL and relational databases, such as MySQL or Postgres
  • Experience with infrastructure-as-code frameworks such as Terraform, Pulumi, Amazon CDK
  • Familiarity with container-based deployment and cloud-based container services such as ECS/EKS/Fargate, Cloud Run/GKE, AKS
  • Experience working with Engineering teams to build deployment pipelines, and deep familiarity with CI / CD tools such as Github Actions, CircleCI, Concourse, Spinnaker, ArgoCD
  • Strong communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills

Nice to have:

  • Experience working with Engineering teams to increase application and platform observability, leveraging tools like DataDog, NewRelic, etc
  • Experience managing cloud infrastructure in a highly regulated domain, i.e. healthcare, finance
  • Exposure to microservices architecture and related concepts and frameworks (e.g. gRPC, protobuf, distributed tracing, service mesh)

Benefits:

  • Compensation
    • Competitive base salary
    • Generous incentive and bonus plans, including individual and company performance bonuses, client and candidate referral incentives and “billable hour” bonuses that can total up to 50% of base pay
    • Access to equity in APrime’s portfolio of startup client companies via a special purpose vehicle.
  • 401k offering with employer match of 100% for contributions up to 6% of annual base salary
  • Time Off and Leave:
    • Unlimited Paid Vacation and Sick Days, subject to company guidelines
    • 12 paid company holidays
    • Paid and unpaid parental leave benefits
  • Health Insurance benefits, including Medical, Dental, Vision and Short Term Disability
    • APrime offers several top-tier PPO health plan options provided by United Healthcare, and currently covers the equivalent of 90% of employee and dependent premiums of the base offering
    • APrime offers Dental and Vision coverage through Beam, and covers 90% of employee and dependents’ premiums
    • APrime fully covers Short Term Disability premiums

The compensation range for Senior Software Engineer 1 and Senior Software Engineer 2 positions is $150,000-180,000, based on leveling. Our compensation package also includes generous incentive compensation opportunities in the form of a discretionary annual bonus, referral commission, and equity incentives that can total up to 50% of base pay.
