About Vantage:

Vantage is a cloud cost visibility and optimization platform, alternatively known as a FinOps platform. We help companies of all sizes manage their cloud infrastructure costs: everything from individual developers all the way up to multiple Fortune 500 customers. Our co-founders are industry veterans who have been former infrastructure engineers and product managers at DigitalOcean and AWS. The company is an efficient and hard working team of ~50 employees across the US with a New York City center of gravity.  As we transition to the growth phase of the business, it’s likely our team size will at least double by the end of 2025.

Our current customers include Square, Aflac, PBS, FanDuel, PlanetScale, Starburst, Vercel, and many more.

Vantage has raised $25M in total venture capital, most recently a $21M Series A financing round in March of 2023.  Our investors include outstanding, top-tier investors including Andreessen Horowitz, Scale Venture Partners, Matthew Prince (Co-Founder & CEO, Cloudflare), Calvin French Owen (Co-Founder, Segment), Ben and Moisey Uretsky (Co-Founders, DigitalOcean), Stephanie and Nat Friedman (CEO, Github), Julia Lipton, Brianne Kimmel and others.

About The Role:

You will work with a tight team of product and data engineers who are responsible for shipping features across the Vantage product. As the primary SRE for the engineering team, you will spend some time partnering with feature teams to ensure that the infrastructure and observability requirements are met and enable us to rapidly scale Vantage. Additionally, you will spend some time being the responsible party to ensure that our infrastructure, reliability and availability is best in class. The team is fast paced and is constantly shipping to production.

What You Will Do:

  • Work directly with our founders and engineers; collaborate on feature discovery, ideation and delivery.

  • Guide technical architecture decisions to enable Vantage’s rapid growth

  • Be the responsible party for our production infrastructure - ensuring it is designed and operated to meet the needs of our customers and is cost efficient

  • Write clean, testable, peer-reviewed code

What We're Looking For:

  • A SRE with a passion for partnering with product teams to build features that delight customers

  • Strong technical background, including 8+ years of experience building and operating SaaS products/platforms

  • Expertise in building and operating services at scale in Kubernetes

  • Expertise in cloud-hosted Network design and operations (e.g. VPC, Peering, subnet definitions, NAT configuration etc)

  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code frameworks such as Terraform, Terragrunt, Pulumi etc

  • Experience with observability and monitoring tools, particularly Datadog

  • Someone who enjoys staying updated with emerging trends and technologies in the SRE and DevX ecosystem to pull them into projects when appropriate

  • Someone excited to make progress and hold a high degree of responsibility

  • A kind person
