As a Senior Sales Solutions Architect, Cloud, you will play a critical role in both Mission Cloud's sales and delivery organizations, partnering with prospective customers to craft AWS-based solutions that align with their business objectives. You will lead solution design during the sales cycle, help scope and estimate engagements, and guide customers through Proof of Concept (POC) projects, often transitioning these into larger-scale professional services engagements.
In this role, you'll collaborate with the Go-to-Market team to drive growth, provide technical expertise, and ensure alignment with AWS best practices. As a customer's trusted advisor, you will work with internal delivery teams to transition solutions smoothly into implementation.
This position is 100% remote.
Responsibilities

  • Pre-Sales Collaboration: Partner with Account Executives to identify, qualify, and scope opportunities, ensuring solutions meet customer pain points and objectives.
  • Solution Design: Develop tailored technical solutions using AWS services to address specific customer challenges, following AWS Well-Architected principles.
  • Value Proposition: Prepare technical documentation, cost estimates, and SOWs to support sales activities and proposal development.
  • Customer Engagement: Present solutions to customers via technical demonstrations, workshops, and strategy sessions, fostering alignment and trust.
  • Delivery Handoff: Collaborate with delivery teams to ensure seamless project transitions, providing oversight to maintain quality and customer satisfaction.
  • POC Conversion: Monitor and assist with implementation of POCs, showcasing solution feasibility and frequently converting them into long-term engagements.
  • AWS Collaboration: Work with AWS teams to align with their initiatives, leverage funding programs, and enhance opportunities for success.
  • Continuous Learning: Stay updated on Mission products and services as well as AWS advancements and emerging technologies, contributing to team knowledge sharing and best practices.
  • Evangelism: Represent Mission Cloud at events, webinars, and workshops, positioning the company as a thought leader in the AWS ecosystem.


Requirements

  • Proven experience in customer-facing pre-sales or consulting roles.
  • Strong ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions, including LOE estimates, architecture, and scope documents.
  • Demonstrated expertise in deploying AWS infrastructure with IaC tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
  • Proficiency in containerization technologies like Docker or Kubernetes, including orchestration and deployment pipelines.
  • Experience designing CI/CD pipelines and automating build/test processes.
  • Hands-on experience with core AWS services (e.g., EC2, VPC, IAM, S3, RDS) and modern architectures.
  • Working knowledge of AWS best practices, migration techniques, cloud cost management practices and tooling, cloud security principles and services, and disaster recovery.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills, with the ability to build consensus among stakeholders.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a proven ability to engage with both business and technical stakeholders to gather requirements and drive consensus.
  • Prior experience developing detailed statements of work (SOWs) that address risk areas while meeting client needs and ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.
  • AWS Professional-level Certification (required within 90 days of employment).
  • Must be able and willing to manage up to 10% travel

Placement within the range is determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to knowledge, skills, and ability as evaluated during the interview process. The compensation range for the base salary of this role is: $140,000 - $175,000
