Duties and Responsibilities:
- Understand and perform basic analysis of previously written software, and be able to modify, develop, and maintain the code.
- Carry out security, bug-fixing, and app improvement (i.e. detect, investigate, and fix defects).
- Participate in design discussions, code walkthroughs, review sessions, and accept constructive feedback; also be happy to review the work of colleagues.
- Provide a “can-do” attitude, prepared to learn whatever tools, technologies, or methodologies are best suited for a task and continual improvement.
- Perform complex development tasks with a high level of quality, and within scheduled time frames.
- Participate in daily Scrum meetings.
- Communicates effectively with peers to relay the status of work and raise challenges, concerns, questions, and issues when necessary.
- Collaborate with the Customer Support and Marketing teams to understand, investigate, and resolve any reported issues and/or implement new ideas.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Advanced and in-depth knowledge of Ruby on Rails, SQL, CSS, & HTML.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of development experience on a team (in a professional environment).
- Someone who is willing to learn a new framework and put in the work to help the team at large.
- TDD knowledge and familiarity at an advanced level.
- B.S. degree in Computer Science (or a related field) is required.
- Master's Degree (preferred).
- Pass a "take-home" technical assessment (5 days will be given to complete this. More information will be provided if you are selected to move forward after initial call).
