About the team and the role:

We are seeking a dynamic, strategic, and hands-on product leader to join our team as the Senior Product Manager 2, Buyer Payments. The Buyer Payment Experiences team is responsible for designing, building and optimizing payment experiences with the goal to empower, and delight millions of eBay buyers across multiple geographies, verticals, and channels.

In this pivotal role, you will help develop and execute the global strategy and roadmap for expanding buyer payments solutions to improve customer choice and flexibility, ensuring access, convenience, security, and affordability and in doing so drive key business outcomes.

You will champion the adoption of new payment methods — capitalizing on emerging global trends — and manage the entire lifecycle from partner evaluation/selection and user experience design through execution, go-to-market activation, and driving post-launch adoption.

What you will accomplish:

  • Develop a comprehensive and detailed product roadmap and strategy for buyer payments aligned with our global business goals ; prioritizing key new payment methods and addressing diverse market needs.

  • Analyze market trends, leverage user research and use data-driven insights to inform product decisions, drive strategic investments and build compelling business cases supporting new payment method launches and product enhancements.

  • Collaborate with senior leaders across eBay’s management team and drive alignment to plans in partnership with business development, legal, risk, user research, design, marketing and engineering.

  • Lead and own the end to end user experience and partner with marketing, external partners, and business development teams to develop and launch effective go-to-market strategies for driving awareness and adoption of new payment methods. .

  • Collaborate closely with engineering, design, and cross functional teams and provide active guidance and hands-on support during the execution phase, ensuring seamless delivery from concept to launch.

  • Lead post-launch initiatives to optimize product performance, gather customer feedback, be data driven and deliver sustained growth.

  • Cultivate a culture of continuous improvement by periodic reviews and incorporating insights from internal cross functional teams as well as from external payments partners

  • Work passionately on behalf of our buyers globally to improve experiences, influencing a higher bar on quality and ensuring our buyers are always at the center of our product roadmap and priorities.

What you will bring:

  • 7+ years of product management experience with a strong background in payments, ecommerce, or related fields with a customer focus.

  • Expertise in developing, launching products at scale in global environments along with a proven track record in go-to-market strategy and market activation to drive product growth.

  • Strong critical thinking and analytical abilities with a business acumen for building compelling cases and roadmaps. 

  • Understanding of the global payment ecosystem, with a strong customer focus and experience in launching and optimizing payment solutions in established and emerging markets will be a plus.

  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities, with proven ability to manage diverse cross-functional teams and influence senior leadership to drive alignment and commitment. Passion for innovation and a collaborative and forward-thinking attitude.

  • Experience working in agile, fast-paced environments with a global perspective.

  • Ability to navigate complex legal and regulatory environments and be nimble to adapt strategies for global scalability.

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment in California, Washington, or New York is expected in the range below.

$156,000 - $245,300

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.

If hired, employees will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
