What You’ll Bring to the role

As the leader of the FLEX (Field Learning EXperience) team, you guide your team to craft transformative learning experiences that drive behavioural change and deliver measurable business impact for the GTM Field. Your collaboration and stakeholder engagement skills enable seamless cooperation with Field Strategists and key partners. Drawing on your expertise in instructional design, project management, and adult learning principles, you guide your team to develop practical, engaging content.

You provide visionary leadership, setting clear goals and inspiring your team to achieve them. Your adaptability allows you to confidently navigate change and uncertainties, guiding the team through evolving business environments and learning technologies. With empathy and emotional intelligence, you foster a supportive and inclusive culture, understanding and addressing the needs of your team and stakeholders.

Encouraging innovation and creativity, you drive continuous improvement and novel approaches to learning experiences. You utilise data and analytics for informed decision-making, optimising learning program effectiveness. By delegating tasks effectively, you empower team members to take ownership and develop their strengths.

Position Description

As a (Senior) Manager - FLEX, you will play a pivotal role in transforming learning needs into exceptional learning experiences for our field teams from modern elearning to creating engaging instructor led workshops. You will collaborate closely with field alignment strategists to identify and distill learning requirements, creating materials that foster skill development and behavioral change. Your work will be instrumental in positioning the FLEX team as a trusted partner and thought leader in the field enablement space. By leveraging your expertise in instructional design and project management, you will ensure that all learning experiences are aligned with business objectives and deliver measurable impact.

Role Responsibilities 

  • Collaborate with Field Strategists to prioritise the team's learning needs and manage the projects related to these needs
  • Design and refine learning materials, including slide decks, facilitator guides, participant guides, and sales resources
  • Create engaging learning experiences using gamification and innovative techniques
  • Manage field learning initiatives from planning through to execution
  • Act as a thought leader, ensuring consistency and quality in content
  • Coordinate with SMEs to integrate valuable insights into learning materials
  • Break down tasks into manageable components with clear deadlines
  • Communicate progress to stakeholders, ensuring transparency and alignment
  • Make swift, informed decisions to manage risks and drive project success
  • Utilise Bloom's Taxonomy to align learning objectives with business needs
  • Maintain branding and ensure impactful delivery of learning sessions
  • Collaborate with the in-person training team to design and transfer learning experiences
  • Ensure Learning is measured, using the Kirkpatrick model

Preferred Experiences 

  • 10+ years in enablement roles within a technology company
  • 2+ years in sales or quota-carrying positions
  • 5+ years proven expertise in instructional design and creation of sales learning experiences
  • 3+ years experience in leading teams/managing direct reports
  • Strong project management skills with experience handling multiple projects
  • Strategic planning and execution experience in high-tech settings
  • Deep understanding of adult learning principles and instructional methodologies
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills for diverse stakeholder engagement
  • Creative problem-solving abilities for designing interactive learning materials
  • Proficiency with learning management systems (LMS) and educational technologies, including Articulate
  • Familiarity with value-based sales methodologies (e.g., MEDDPICC, SPIN Selling, Command of the Message)
  • Ability to anticipate learning needs and develop proactive solutions
  • Experience in measuring learning outcomes though the Kirkpatrick model
  • Experience in stakeholder management and building trusted partnerships
  • Fast decision-making skills to manage risks and ensure project success

MongoDB’s base salary range for this role is posted below. Compensation at the time of offer is unique to each candidate and based on a variety of factors such as skill set, experience, qualifications, and work location. Salary is one part of MongoDB’s total compensation and benefits package. Other benefits for eligible employees may include: equity, participation in the employee stock purchase program, flexible paid time off, 20 weeks fully-paid gender-neutral parental leave, fertility and adoption assistance, 401(k) plan, mental health counseling, access to transgender-inclusive health insurance coverage, and health benefits offerings.
