What we're looking for:
Iodine Software is seeking a Senior Manager, Codines Services to join the team. Reporting to Chief Clinical Strategist, the Senior Manager will work cross-functionally with the Clinical Leadership, Product Strategy and cross functional teams to oversee the efforts for coding services. This leader will be the people manager to the Coding Team composed of internal and client facing specialists.
What you'll do:

  • Lead and manage the coding team to ensure that Iodine products are developed and maintained with up to date coding requirements and regulations
  • Lead and manage the client facing coding team so that clients are able to successfully adopt the code audit product and achieve a successful ROI
  • Drive individual coding team members behaviors to ensure successful deployment of the code audit product
  • Drive individual coding team members behaviors to ensure client success through regular monitoring of client data and identification of action plans for improvement
  • Develop and coach individual coding team members to provide appropriate education, mentoring and coding support to client leaders and end users that ensures client satisfaction and expected outcomes
  • Execute processes and programs to improve code rule development and maintenance to mitigate client risk and drive value resulting in renewal and expansion opportunities
  • Stay informed about industry updates on coding guidelines and materials to ensure product compliance and competitiveness.
  • Research healthcare technology changes and trends affecting documentation and coding, guiding product development accordingly.
  • Serve as a point of escalation for client issues and work directly with clients and internal departments to ensure resolution occurs
  • Report out on product development and maintenance to Iodine leadership, proactively identify risk clients and provide mitigation strategies as needed
  • Advocate for product enhancements/new features and influence roadmap planning, based on client input and needs
  • Drive innovation of the Iodine Software products and establish best practice workflows for internal and external users
  • Maintain client loyalty by coaching the UM clinical team to serve their clients above and beyond their expectations.
  • Collaborate with the Data Science and Product teams to provide subject matter expertise for product development and enhancement.
  • Prepare coding-related reports, analyses, and recommendations for product development and strategic decision-making.


What we'd love to see:
Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management (RHIA) or Bachelor degree in related field with appropriate coding certification
  • Certification: PCC and/or CIC required, CCS preferred
  • Experience in monitoring and assessing coding accuracy
  • Experience managing a second level review process that identifies coding error or discrepancies
  • Experience in developing new technology highly preferred
  • 5+ years of inpatient coding experience required
  • Experience in coding consulting role preferred
  • Progressive growth in coding leadership
  • Staff management experience
  • Program strategy and goal setting experience
  • Strong persuasion skills to assist customers who have difficulty with change management
  • Experience presenting to others
  • Strong verbal and writing client-facing communications skills are needed to both gather information, ideas and to present features and functionality
  • Experience with communicating through conflict to achieve agreed upon outcomes
  • Experience working/managing multiple concurrent projects and tasks while staying on track and meeting commitments
  • Experience identifying opportunities and potential gaps in order to contribute proactive ideas for improvement
  • Experience managing timelines and evolving client expectations and deliverables including prioritizing and escalation
  • Ability to travel up to 40%, as necessary
  • Travel schedule is based upon client need and availability


Preferred Requirements:

  • Master's degree in a health system management, business or other healthcare related field
  • Experience in client management with a healthcare technology or consulting company
  • Collaborator DNA with a desire to solve for the interests of our clients and of our business
  • Positive, self-starter attitude with desire to exceed expectations and ability to work extended hours when necessary
