Atlassian seeks a Senior Manager to lead a high-performing team of business intelligence (BI) and data analysts to drive strategic investments across cloud operations. The team identifies business problems, proposes hypotheses and surfaces actionable data insights to drive executive-level decisions that optimize operational performance across Atlassian's product portfolio. The team is also responsible for delivering intuitive self-serve analytics solutions, transformative data ecosystem innovations and accessible decision-making systems to elevate the velocity, depth and impact of our insights.
The ideal candidate will be a seasoned people manager with a background in business intelligence (BI), data engineering, data science or a related quantitative field. We seek a visionary, innovative leader who can push the frontier of BI through masterful storytelling, thoughtful innovation (including AI) and a passion for building enduring partnerships across operations, product and engineering functions.

  • Team Leadership: Lead and develop a team of business intelligence and data analysts to maximize decision-making impact across operations, product and engineering leadership
  • Business Intelligence Innovation: Craft a bold, exciting vision for BI and drive transformative innovation to enable next-gen data capabilities, especially through AI and self-serve analytics
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams across operations, product, data and engineering to ensure impactful and enduring business outcomes
  • Business Partnership: Collaborate with operations leaders to identify strategic investments and deliver advanced data insights to maximize decision-making effectiveness
  • Data Solution Delivery: Deliver impactful data solutions to surface strategic opportunities, monitor key business metrics, diagnose issues, quantify initiatives and communicate impact to the business
  • Communication: Effectively translate data complexity into clear, actionable insights for leaders while advocating for the team's impact to the business


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Experience: 12+ years in business intelligence, data product management, data engineering or data science with 6+ years in people management
  • Leadership: Proven success working with business partners and leading a technical data strategy
  • Business Acumen: Fluency in business strategy, product strategy, finance and operational best practices
  • Technical Skills: Expertise in insights automation (including ML), data visualization, data modeling and data architecture
  • Communication: Proven experience in translating complex data concepts into actionable clarity for non-technical executive audiences
  • Project Management: Experience in strategic roadmap planning, operational sprint planning and cross-functional engagement modeling


Desirable Qualifications:

  • Experience launching programmatic BI products (Streamlit, Plotly, etc)
  • Experience integrating AI into data workloads
  • Experience in B2B, customer support, customer success
  • Experience with large data sets and distributed computing
  • Experience using Atlassian products (Jira, Confluence, etc) to manage and share team's work


Compensation
At Atlassian, we strive to design equitable, explainable, and competitive compensation programs. To support this goal, the baseline of our range is higher than that of the typical market range, but in turn we expect to hire most candidates near this baseline. Base pay within the range is ultimately determined by a candidate's skills, expertise, or experience. In the United States, we have three geographic pay zones. For this role, our current base pay ranges for new hires in each zone are:
Zone A: $173,600 - $231,500
Zone B: $156,200 - $208,300
Zone C: $144,100 - $192,100
This role may also be eligible for benefits, bonuses, commissions, and equity.
