The Role

We’re hiring a Senior Engineering Manager to lead the team responsible for Frame.io’s media processing pipeline, global media delivery service, and cloud-native storage strategy. Your team will architect systems that handle massive-scale media assets, optimize interoperability with leading cloud storage providers (e.g., AWS S3, Google Cloud, Miscrosoft Azure), and deliver mission-critical integrations with Adobe’s creative tools.

This role is pivotal to our vision of becoming the backbone of video collaboration for the creative industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of engineers building distributed systems for video transcoding, storage, and delivery.
  • Architect cloud-first solutions for high-volume media processing (codecs like H.264/HEVC, protocols like HLS/DASH).
  • Partner closely with Adobe product teams to ensure seamless interoperability with tools like Premiere Pro and After Effects.
  • Define Frame.io’s cloud storage strategy, prioritizing scalability, cost efficiency, and cross-platform compatibility.
  • Drive innovation in workflow orchestration using tools like Temporal for resilient, scalable media pipelines.
  • Foster a culture of technical excellence, mentorship, and operational rigor.

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of engineering management experience leading infrastructure/platform teams, with 5+ years in software engineering.
  • Proven expertise in designing cloud-native distributed systems (e.g., microservices, serverless architectures) at scale.
  • Deep familiarity with video technology: codecs (HEVC, AV1), streaming protocols (HLS, CMAF), and open-source tools (FFmpeg, GStreamer).
  • Experience collaborating with product teams to deliver user-centric infrastructure solutions.
  • Passion for media technology and staying ahead of trends (e.g., 8K, AI-driven workflows).
  • Bonus: Experience with content protection (DRM, watermarking).
  • Bonus: Proficiency in infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, CloudFormation) and workflow orchestration tools (Temporal).

Why Join Us?

  • Lead a high-impact team that directly shapes integrations with Adobe’s industry-leading creative tools.
  • Solve complex challenges at the intersection of media infrastructure and creative workflows.
  • Competitive salary, equity, and benefits.
  • Fully remote-friendly.
