Description
The Role:
Seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to join our eCommerce team. The role will be supporting the development team building solutions for selling parts, accessories, and OnStar through our customer portals, and B2B platforms to support fulfillment. This requires understanding the operation of complex eCommerce systems, how they are designed, and deployed. The ideal candidate will be a strong, verbal leader in the devOps team, with influence to the larger dev team. They will support the development team through managing environments, CI/CD pipelines, production releases, and debugging complex issues. They will also support our operations team in managing production environments, monitoring, incident recovery, and root cause analysis.
What You'll Do:

  • Build and manage CI/CD pipelines
  • Plan and lead production deployment activities with zero downtime
  • Design and support complex dev and test environments
  • Work with operations and development teams to debug complex issues
  • Identify gaps and improvement opportunities in monitoring systems
  • Work closely with junior devOps team members to grow their skillsets
  • Lead efforts in migrating to new platforms and technologies
  • Help drive performance and reliability improvements
  • Monitor systems and site health through tools such as Dynatrace and Grafana


Additional Description
Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field or related practical experience
  • 5+ years of professional experience in software industry
  • 3+ years of professional experience in a devOps role
  • Experience managing microservice and cloud computing platforms (Cloud Foundry, Azure)
  • Experience managing Kubernetes platform
  • Experience building and managing CI/CD pipelines (ADO Pipelines, GitHub Actions)
  • Experience designing and implementing branching strategies
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Must be able to quickly grasp complex concepts and learn new technologies
  • Proficiency in Linux and shell scripting


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Azure Administrator certification
  • Kubernetes Administrator certification
  • Professional experience working with HCL Commerce
  • Professional experience working with IBM Sterling Order Management System


This role is categorized as hybrid . This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Austin, TX three times per week, at minimum
