The Job At-A-Glance:

As a Developer Advocate, you will work with a large developer audience from around the world, where you help build the Innovation Studio community, as you evangelize our story and inspire new and existing ways for users to build and utilize the Innovation Studio ecosystem.
Building strong relationships with developers, will enable you to help support developers building with Q2 Innovation Studio, by producing samples, workshops, documentation, and office hours. You'll foster developer communities, championing their interests and translating their feedback into actionable product insights for the Innovation Studio team.

A Typical Day:

  • Strategize and advise developers on architectural options and best practices as they use Q2's Innovation Studio to build new integrations
  • Function as a bridge, teaching developers how to get the most out of the toolset and relaying their feedback to the engineering team.
  • Engage and communicate with our community, triage and prioritize urgent issues for escalation to Product and Engineering and provide input on potential solutions being developed by the community.
  • Help to troubleshoot and reproduce potential bugs raised via Q2Developer.com
  • Drive and coordinate community feedback to influence Innovation Studio's roadmap
  • Coordinate community user group
  • Answer community questions on discussion forums
  • Build technical tools and demos to help communicate key changes or enhancements with our tools
  • Coordinate with Q2's Engineering teams to ensure excellent developer experiences
  • Measure and track new projects the Innovation Studio community is working on and use that data to tell the Innovation Studio story.
  • Participate in building a community around the product and find opportunities for working with others in the ecosystem.
  • Improve our documentation and influence product development based on feedback from the developer community.
  • Connecting with developers, both to share knowledge about Q2’s SDK features, and to gather feedback from the community about the SDK and the resources available to them.

Bring Your Passion, Do What You Love. Here’s What We’re Looking For:

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in (relevant degree) and a minimum of 5 years of related experience; or an advanced degree with 3+ years of experience; or equivalent related work experience.
  • 5+ years in a technical role focused on large distributed systems
  • Experience as a developer or in a similar role, with strong developer empathy and a love for helping others solve problems and succeed
  • Skilled technical writer, with experience creating documentation and educational materials for developer audiences.
  • Experienced at collaborating with leaders and stakeholders from other departments and organizations to ensure strategic alignment and resolve execution dependencies
  • Track record of focusing on developer impact in decision-making and execution
  • Excellent communication skills; you can explain a sophisticated technical issue in such a way that most people could understand & translate the words behind the words in meetings with customers
  • Experience with Git, Github workflows, and actions
  • Experience with automation or delivery pipelines

This position requires fluent written and oral communication in English.
