Summary:

We are seeking a Senior Data Scientist who is business-savvy, proactive, intellectually curious, and an analytics powerhouse to lead, own, and deliver in-depth analyses of large-scale data problems to influence numerous aspects of our business. You will be a thought leader in the Consumer Analytics team with impact across the entire lifecycle of the customer, from discovery of our consumer products through product engagement and churn. Your focus will be on our flagship consumer products: ABCmouse.com® and Adventure Academy™. Contribution will come in the form of defining data capture requirements that can enable rich data analyses, verifying data integrity, data manipulation, business monitoring, data visualization, in-depth and predictive analyses, and in-product features. Your insights will be instrumental in optimizing our user acquisition and product performance, ultimately maximizing our product’s impact on children’s learning outcomes. 


Responsibilities:

  • Partner closely with multiple stakeholders, including the executive team, marketing, partnerships, strategy, product, and customer success, to understand business needs and surface insights and learnings that address them 
  • Develop statistical analyses and build and deploy machine learning models to understand and predict customer behavior and product performance  
  • Create, report, and interpret key metrics to assess performance, measure the impact of strategic initiatives, and identify ways to grow revenue and reduce costs 
  • Support A/B and multivariate testing 
  • Create informative and actionable dashboards and visualizations 
  • Communicate results to technical and non-technical stakeholders 
  • Identify actionable insights that positively affect both company revenue and learning outcomes for children 
  • Build personalization features to customers 
  • Mentor others across the company on Data Science best practices, tools, and techniques 

Required Qualifications:

  • 8+ years in a data-intensive role 
  • Master’s degree in a quantitative field (Ph.D. preferred) 
  • Experience in an analytical or product-focused role within large-scale, successful free-to-play (F2P) digital products. Background in gaming or educational apps is a plus.
  • Proven experience with analytical, statistical, and machine learning methods 
  • Experience productionalizing models 
  • Proficiency in SQL and Python 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
  • Proven ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders 
  • Curious, motivated, self-starter, collaborative, team player 
  • Passionate about high-quality, insightful data analysis 
  • Experience mentoring others 

Total Compensation:

The estimated salary range for a new hire in this position is $140,000 USD to $170,000 USD. Salary may vary depending on job-related factors, including knowledge, skills, experience, and location.


Age of Learning currently provides:
