We’re seeking a talented Semi-Senior Designer who understands that great design is more than just aesthetics—it’s about creating seamless, engaging experiences that meet client needs. In this role, you’ll be designing for Mercer, the world’s largest human resources consulting firm, known for its work in talent, health, retirement, and investments. Your work will contribute to impactful HR and benefits solutions, helping Mercer drive business success for their clients through innovative, user-centered design.

This role emphasizes creativity, collaboration, and attention to detail. Reporting to the Design Team Lead, you’ll work within a team that values strategic thinking, prototyping, and iterative design. This is a hands-on position for someone eager to refine their skills, contribute to high-impact projects, and grow within a supportive, fast-paced environment

Requirements
  • Design System Knowledge: Proficiency in working within and contributing to established design systems, ensuring consistency and scalability across projects.
  • Digital Design: Experience in creating visually compelling and functional digital interfaces.
  • User-Centered Design: Ability to translate user needs into effective design solutions.
  • Brand Alignment: Skill in designing to align with specific brand standards and identity.
  • Concept Development: Ability to brainstorm, develop, and communicate design ideas effectively.
  • Iteration & Feedback Incorporation: Openness to feedback with the ability to iterate designs based on team and client input.
  • Collaboration: Strong ability to work with cross-functional teams, including Product Managers, Strategists, and Developers.
  • Time Management: Skill in prioritizing tasks, meeting deadlines, and managing time across multiple projects.
  • Communication: Clear verbal and written communication skills for internal collaboration and occasional client interaction.
  • Basic Prototyping: Competence in creating and testing prototypes to validate design decisions.
  • Attention to Detail: Ability to ensure high quality and consistency across all design deliverables.
  • HR/Benefits Domain Awareness: Familiarity with HR and benefits themes, or willingness to learn, to understand client-specific needs and objectives.

Responsibilities:

  • Creative Execution:
    Contribute to the creative direction and execution of design projects, aligning with project goals and brand standards. Collaborate with the Design Team Lead to ensure design quality and consistency across all deliverables.
  • Concept Development:
    Participate in brainstorming and concept development sessions, sharing ideas and providing creative solutions. Work with the team to bring concepts to life, ensuring they are innovative, on-brand, and aligned with client objectives.
  • Design Production & Iteration:
    Create and refine design elements, ensuring they meet project requirements and contribute to a cohesive visual experience. Incorporate feedback and iterate designs to align with client and team direction.
  • Project Support & Quality Assurance:
    Support the design process from concept to final execution, providing regular updates and collaborating closely with team members. Maintain quality and consistency in all deliverables, adhering to project timelines and design standards.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:
    Work alongside Product Managers, Strategists, and Developers to ensure design efforts are cohesive and aligned with broader project goals. Be open to feedback from different perspectives to achieve high-quality results.
  • Client Interaction Support:
    Join client meetings alongside the Design Team Lead as needed, helping to articulate and present design choices. Understand client needs to ensure design solutions support their brand and business objectives, with guidance from senior team members.
