Title: SEM & PPC Strategist
Direct Manager Title: Associate Director, Performance Marketing Strategy 

The Role:

The purpose of the SEM & PPC Strategist is to support the Performance Marketing team in developing budget recommendations and campaign strategies that drive lead generation. You’ll report directly to the Associate Director of Performance Marketing and work collaboratively with the Strategy team as needed, consisting of Programmatic and Social strategists. Prior experience in hands-on SEM, Performance Max, Google Display Network and YouTube campaign development in the healthcare space is a must.

What You’ll Do:

  • Strategy Team Collaboration
    • Collaborate with the Managers of SEM Strategy and Programmatic & Social on new business opportunities, renewals, and upsells
    • Provide both strategic and troubleshooting support to the Campaign Operations Team as it relates to campaign performance with the ability to join client-facing calls, as needed.
    • Understand how to leverage Google Ads and the Unlock Media Control Platform to drive performance insights
  • Sales & Client Services Support
    • Budget Recommendations:
      • Create budget recommendations for existing clients and new business opportunities as requested by the Sales and Client Services team, and work collaboratively with client teams as needed
      • Develop presentations or training sessions for clients to explain SEM and PPC strategies, industry trends, and performance data
      • Proactive Recommendations: Provide forward-thinking recommendations for upsells or budget reallocations based on campaign performance and industry shifts
  • RFPs:
    • Assist with RFPs from a client strategy perspective
    • Pull data as needed or work with data teams to gather information for RFPs as needed
  • Digital Strategy
    • Policy & Guidelines:
      • Provide a clear understanding of Google Ads and Microsoft/Bing Ads, healthcare-related advertising policies
  • Strategic Guidance:
    • Support Campaign Managers/Sales/Client Leads with ad hoc strategy & support, campaign optimizations, inquiries, etc. as needed in tandem with other resources
      • Ongoing refinement and development of keyword templates
      • Assist with campaign audits and reviews
  • Client Support:
    • Support Campaign Managers/Sales/Client Leads on select client calls from a strategy/backup perspective as needed, in tandem with other resources
    • Create tailored SEM and PPC strategies based on client-specific goals, service lines, and geographic priorities
  • Platforms & Products:
    • Partner with platforms like Google and Bing to pilot new features and products, evaluating their potential for healthcare clients in collaboration with the Manager of SEM Strategy
    • Dig into & research digital strategy trends as needed for the company
    • Look into platform changes, updates, product features, and trends
    • Meet with Google and Bing reps as needed
  • Deployment:
    • Serve as a mentor to junior SEM team members, helping them grow their knowledge of healthcare-focused SEM and PPC strategies
    • Stay up to date on SEM and PPC certifications and trends, providing ongoing training to the team to align with industry changes
    • Research next steps and strategy, and provide recommendations on any deployments needed
    • Assist with the implementation of initiatives as needed

Ideal Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience managing large-scale SEM and PPC campaigns, preferably in the healthcare industry
  • Ability to take direction and/or work autonomously, knowing when to escalate concerns and manage up
  • Forward-thinking, problem-solving attitude
  • Comfortable with file sharing, project management, and other inter-company collaboration tools
  • Thrives in a fast-paced, evolving environment
  • Agency experience is a plus
