About the role
Are you a proponent of developing and maintaining the technology that enables wireless communication? The design engineer will be responsible for the design of Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS). In this role, candidates will be expected to attend site surveys, develop RF link budgets, create DAS designs (iBwave tool) with propagation plots, and prepare technical proposals.
What you’ll be doing
As part of the operations team, you’ll play a vital role in optimizing Boldyn Networks neutral host wireless solutions. At all levels, colleagues will rely on your experience designing, optimizing, analyzing, and improving performance of our DAS systems. It’s a role with a lot of variety, and day-to-day, you’ll mainly be involved with:
- Design of in-building multi-carrier wireless networks in airports, tunnels, stadiums, arenas, campuses, and other large venues – for CDMA, GSM, UMTS, WIFI, and LTE systems.
- Participate in site walks of venues to determine the design parameters and key performance metric (KPI) criteria which influence the design.
- Plan and develop design in accordance with design standards to ensure system quality and meet customer requirements.
- Use RF tools (iBwave, Atoll, Planet) to perform radio propagation modeling and prediction and perform propagation model tuning and integration.
- Build 3-dimensional models using design software, e.g. iBwave, and utilize data analysis tools for finalizing designs and recommendations.
- Review design deliverables, identify risks and plans to mitigate risks.
- Update designs to accommodate changes made during system implementation and testing.
- Develop Bill of Materials and design proposals.
What you’ll bring
