Job Description

NETZSCH Pumps USA is looking for a self-motivated, experienced, mechanically-inclined individual to work as a Regional Sales Manager in the Western region of the US. The Regional Sales Manager is a strategic, highly-visible position, and is responsible for managing the sales activities of the assigned territory.  This position reports to the Business Field Sales Director and the ideal candidate will reside in the Western part of the US, near a major city or airport.

This position will drive the business in the region with the ultimate goal of increasing market share penetration at profitable levels. The Regional Sales Manager will become a trusted and valued partner to our customers to help achieve our strategic goals.  The RSM will perform the following duties among others:

  • Technically and commercially support distributors in the assigned market.
  • Frequently visit waste water treatment and industrial plants in the region to discover and develop aftermarket opportunities and develop spare parts business.
  • Assist in defining and executing plans/programs to combat pirates to increase parts sales.
  • Sell NETZSCH products and service to meet or exceed region sales revenue plan as established by the Business Field Director and NETZSCH Pumps management.
  • Research, analyze and recommend new sales partners (primary or niche) for the region when necessary.
  • Provide required training to sales partner’s staff on products, applications, competition, commercial issues, company policies and operational procedures. 
  • Make joint sales calls with sales partners or service personnel to build relationships with key customers in the region.
  • Represent NETZSCH at trade shows and industry events.
  • Provide the Company with market trends, sales growth strategies and competitive intelligence.  Participate in marketing activities as required.

Qualifications

Successful candidates will have previous experience selling industrial equipment, preferably pumps.  In addition, candidates should have:

  • Solid negotiation skills which includes the ability to communicate, persuade, strategize and cooperate.
  • Must be driven to achieve results. Position holder must be able to develop Regional Strategy Plans including specific roadmaps to reach the established sales and profitability goals in the assigned region.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. 
  • Excellent organizational skills with demonstrated ability to execute projects on time.
  • The ability to have related business and technical discussions as well as the ability to speak in front of groups.
  • A valid driver’s license and current passport.
  • The ability to travel up to 70% as required to achieve sales goals. Travel is mostly domestic with occasional international trips to other NETZSCH entities.
