How You Will Make an Impact

As the Process Engineer, you will be responsible for overseeing daily sand production operations, troubleshooting front-line PLC/Automation systems, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. This role demands a keen attention to detail, strong communication skills with field counterparts, exceptional analytical abilities, and a solid understanding of automation and programming processes.

This role will be based onsite at our Headquarters in Austin, TX.

**Must be willing to participate in an on-call schedule to meet business continuity requirements, including weekends and holidays as required. 

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for day-to-day oversight of manufacturing operations.
  • Document and track equipment downtime.
  • Enhance and refine documentation to the point where you can effectively communicate its contents and key insights.
  • Consistent and meaningful communication with field personnel.
  • Monitor quality and inline process trends, document and escalate deviations.
  • Support field personnel by providing process data and assist in troubleshooting.
  • Process Improvement recommendations through statistical analysis and trend monitoring.
  • Collect and evaluate data to support business decisions in mining and process improvement.
  • Prepare and maintain daily and weekly production reports of Wet/Dry plants and Dune Express.
  • Propose and implement capital expenditure projects from engineering through execution.
  • Work closely with Maintenance Department to ensure continuous and safe operations.
  • Adhere to all Atlas Energy and MSHA standards.
  • Recommend changes in standards and procedures to improve production and performance.
  • Implement automation and PLC programming modifications in accordance with specified guidelines and directives.
  • Design effective and intuitive improvements to the process monitoring interface.
  • Travel up to 15% to West Texas.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Automation, Electrical or Electro-mechanical, or related degree.
  • Recent experience (professional or academic) with Industrial Systems.
  • Proficiency in general programming design and testing methodologies.
