Remote: This role is based remotely but if you live within a 50-mile radius of [Atlanta, Austin, Detroit, Warren, Milford or Mountain View], you are expected to report to that location three times a week, at minimum.

We are seeking a technical expert to join our team and lead efforts in designing and implementing robust data ingestion, access, management, and processing systems to power our AI platform. As a pivotal member of our engineering team, you will be instrumental in improving our data infrastructure, particularly focusing on enhancing developer access to vehicle development logs and building efficient data pipelines between on-premises and cloud environments.

  • *Architect and develop a modern system for ingesting and indexing vehicle data from our development and customer fleet
  • Develop an access abstraction layer that simplifies how developers interact with data.
  • Ensure scalability, reliability, and performance of the system to load and train on large volumes of data efficiently.
  • Automate the extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) of logs from vehicle systems to a centralized data platform.
  • Design and build a data platform capable of seamless data movement between on-premises data centers and cloud environments (public and private).
  • Utilize technologies such as DreamIO, Spark, and Airflow to orchestrate and monitor data workflows.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members.
  • Propose and implement additional solutions to optimize data infrastructure and enhance developer productivity.


Additional Description

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • Proven experience (8+ years) in designing and building scalable data platforms and data pipelines.
  • Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or C++.
  • Proficiency in ML frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or similar
  • Hands-on experience with big data technologies (e.g., Spark, Kafka, Databricks) and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • In-depth understanding of network stacks, including protocols such as TCP/IP, HTTP, DNS, and others
  • Expertise in SQL and NoSQL databases, data warehousing concepts, and ETL processes.
  • Comfortable working in highly ambiguous and dynamic environments.


This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Mountain View three times per week, at minimum.
The compensation information is a good faith estimate only. It is based on what a successful applicant might be paid in accordance with applicable state laws. The compensation may not be representative for positions located outside of New York, Colorado, California, or Washington.

  • The salary range for this role is $225,000 and $334,800. The actual base salary a successful candidate will be offered within this range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.


An incentive pay program offers payouts based on company performance, job level, and individual performance.
