Job Purpose
The Principal Architect - Workday Integration plays a pivotal role in driving HR technology strategy. This role requires a combination of Workday platform expertise, integration, and strategic vision to design solutions that align business priorities with enterprise architecture principles.
Responsibilities
Solution Design & Delivery

  • Partner with business and technology leaders to define and deliver architectures that align with strategic goals and business needs.
  • Develop scalable, secure, and reusable solution templates using reference architectures.
  • Evaluate performance, security, reliability, and interoperability requirements to produce high-level design deliverables for development teams.


Integration

  • Ability to review and determine how different systems can work together seamlessly to deliver targeted Cox business and technology outcomes
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in delivering different integration styles like asynchronous data integration, service-based synchronous integrations (APIs) and triggered event-driven integrations.
  • Establish standard platform capabilities that simplify or remove integration complexity between systems while increasing data quality and security.
  • Demonstrated experience architecting and designing secure, resilient, and scalable integrations that span multiple systems in distributed computing environments (on-premises, cloud, and hybrid).
  • Champions reusable and scalable integration assets to enhance operational efficiency.


Collaboration & Governance

  • Collaborate with business and technical leaders to align platform solutions with strategic goals.
  • Ability to define and communicate best practices and frameworks.
  • Builds architecture artifacts that communicate these capabilities through reference architectures, patterns, templates, and accelerators aligned with business architecture capabilities maps.
  • Shape governance of technology enablement platforms working with Cox Enterprises systems of delivery and portfolios incorporating them with Enterprise Architecture (Application Portfolio Management, Technology Business Management)
  • Proficient understanding of data governance and data quality best practices.


Stakeholder Engagement

  • Partner with cross-functional teams to understand business needs and deliver impactful solutions.
  • Communicate architectural concepts to stakeholders at various levels of technical and business expertise.
  • Ability to shape architecture through diagrams, architecture decisions, industry and Cox-developed reference architectures


Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Engage with stakeholders to understand business objectives and translate them into actionable technology strategies.
  • Facilitate technical design reviews to ensure alignment with cybersecurity, compliance, and enterprise goals.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor for IT and business leaders, bridging gaps between technical and business perspectives.


Continuous Improvement

  • Develop and enforce best practices in architecture processes, ensuring the delivery of secure, efficient, and effective solutions.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts by identifying opportunities for automation, optimization, and innovation.
  • Contribute to the Architecture Community of Practice, promoting knowledge sharing and thought leadership.


Qualifications - Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field and 10 years' related experience. The right candidate could also have a different combination such as master's degree and 8 years' experience; Ph.D and 5 years' experience; or 22 years' of related experience.
  • 10+ years of experience in IT engineering - has done development and can write code.
  • 8+ years of experience in solution architecture delivering enterprise-scale solutions.
  • 6+ years of expertise on Workday Cloud Platform
  • Understand how and why technology works. Likewise, can explain concepts to diverse audiences both technical and nontechnical.
  • Experience integrating SaaS, iPaaS, PaaS, IaaS, and on-premises applications.
  • Understanding of integration patterns and appropriate use. Examples being synchronous vs asynchronous or API vs batch.
  • Understand how and why technology works. Likewise, can explain concepts to diverse audiences both technical and nontechnical.


Qualifications - Preferred

  • Master's degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • 12+ years of experience in IT engineering and has done development.
  • 1-2 years' Azure or AWS cloud architecture experience preferred.


USD 159,400.00 - 265,600.00
Compensation:
Compensation includes a base salary of $159,400.00 - $265,600.00. The base salary may vary within the anticipated base pay range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include an incentive program.
Benefits:
The Company offers eligible employees the flexibility to take as much vacation with pay as they deem consistent with their duties, the company's needs, and its obligations; seven paid holidays throughout the calendar year; and up to 160 hours of paid wellness annually for their own wellness or that of family members. Employees are also eligible for additional paid time off in the form of bereavement leave, time off to vote, jury duty leave, volunteer time off, military leave, and parental leave.
In California, we will consider non-driving candidates who use alternate means of transportation in accordance with applicable law.
