About Vouch:

At Vouch, we believe business insurance should move at the speed of innovation. Legacy insurance providers can’t keep up with the emerging risks of high-growth companies, leaving clients stuck with outdated, rigid coverage.

Vouch is a modern insurance provider dedicated to the innovation economy. Backed by $185M in funding from world-class investors, we’re reimagining business insurance—just as Stripe transformed payments and Brex reimagined credit cards.

Our platform replaces complex, legacy processes with a streamlined, tailored approach to risk management. Advanced technology simplifies every step, while expert advisors negotiate coverage as dynamic as the industries we serve. With Vouch, clients get the right coverage at the right price—and a team that scales with them.

Why should you join our team and Vouch?

Not only is this an exciting and growing team where you can drive a real impact on our scalability, but Vouch is also the preferred insurance provider to customers of Y Combinator, Brex, Carta, and WeWork. We’re a quickly growing startup that believes in transparency and acknowledgment with our team members and cultivating a values-driven company. Our values are “Put People First,” “Listen, Challenge, and Grow,” “Face challenges head-on and win as a team,” and “Serve clients with integrity and excellence.”

What does a work environment look like at Vouch?

Vouch has employees located across the U.S., with offices in San Francisco, Chicago, and New York City. This role can be based anywhere in the U.S. as long as you can work our Vouch core collaboration hours (8:30 am-2:30 pm Pacific Time) when most internal meetings are held.

The part-time Placements Coordinator will work approximately 20 hours per week.

Role Responsibilities:

As a Placements Coordinator, you will play a key role in the Vouch Horizon Brokerage team, primarily handling market-facing responsibilities and collaborating with client managers to place insurance products efficiently and effectively. This role is ideal for an early-career insurance professional eager to develop expertise in risk placement, market negotiations, and coverage strategy while being mentored by experienced brokers.

You will work across various lines of business, with a primary focus on Management Liability, Cyber/Tech E&O, Professional Liability, and General Liability/Umbrella. In this role, you will evaluate client risks, negotiate terms with carriers under supervision, and ensure a seamless placement process.

At Vouch, we pride ourselves on making the insurance process fast, easy, and tailored for our clients. Your contributions will help scale our reputation for outstanding customer experience while ensuring regulatory and technical standards are met.

Job Duties:

  • Support client managers and producers by assessing coverage needs and making initial placement recommendations.

  • Participate in carrier negotiations, securing favorable terms and conditions.

  • Manage the full lifecycle of the insurance placement process across multiple lines of coverage, ensuring seamless execution from initial risk assessment to policy binding and issuance.

  • Track and analyze the revenue impact of placement decisions.

  • Develop a foundational understanding of direct insurance markets vs. wholesale brokers, carrier appetites, underwriting criteria, and coverage options.

  • Ensure accurate documentation of all market-facing activities, including policy placements, endorsements, and client interactions.

  • Process policies, binders, and endorsements through carrier and agency management systems.

  • Follow predefined processes and procedures to ensure compliance and efficiency.

  • Maintain and update systems for policy documentation, endorsements, binders, and claims tracking.

  • Work closely with client managers, producers, and senior brokers to execute placements.

  • Act as a liaison between clients and insurance markets, helping to address inquiries and concerns.

  • Provide timely and accurate responses to client and team requests.

  • Identify and escalate complex risks or underwriting challenges to senior brokers or domain experts.

  • Participate in ongoing training and continuing education to build expertise in professional lines insurance.

About you:

  • 2+ years of property & casualty insurance experience, ideally in commercial lines (personal lines experience will be considered).

  • Experience in a client-facing or market-facing role such as a broker, agent, MGA (retail or wholesale), underwriting, or account management.

  • Strong relationship management skills focused on customer service, cross-collaboration, and conflict resolution.

  • Negotiation skills with carriers and clients; able to secure concessions without damaging relationships.

  • Proven experience managing a portfolio of customers.

  • Dependable, detail-oriented, and proactive, with strong follow-through skills.

  • Comfortable working in ambiguous situations and maintaining composure in complex environments.

  • Active P&C license required.

Nice to have:

  • Exposure to and passion for early-stage startups and/or high-growth environments, someone who embraces change.

Salary Range:
