You will join a team developing state-of-the-art general-purpose robots designed to operate in human spaces and with human tools. It is designed to work alongside humans, mobilize to human spaces, and manipulate the world around it.

JOB SUMMARY

We are looking for a detail-oriented CAD Drafter focused on drawing development to support our Mechanical Engineering team to help build state of the art robotic systems.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES or KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Develop detailed production drawings for mechanical parts and assemblies  
  • Assemble, organize, and distribute production drawings, full technical data packages, and/or close-out documents to appropriate departments/clients as necessary  
  • Revise production drawings and maintain revision history; follow through with appropriate filing and distribution of revised drawings  
  • Check drawings and other documentation for completeness, correctness, and adherence to company and industry standards  
  • Work closely with engineering to develop and implement drawing drafting standards and processes  
  • Initiate CAD and/or systems recommendations toward continuous improvement in CAD usage, product development, and other procedures  
  • Create/maintain CAD assemblies, BOMs, parts/COTS libraries, and similar, working with PDM/PLM system as necessary

 

SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS

  • Experience producing and interpreting detailed technical drawings for mechanical systems  
  • Proficient in 3D CAD software (SolidWorks, Creo, Inventor, Onshape, etc.)  
  • Understanding and experience implementing GD&T (ASME Y14.5); experience with ASME (or industry equivalent) drafting standards (ASME Y14.100, ASME Y14.35, etc.)  
  • Knowledge of low volume manufacturing processes such as CNC programming, milling, turning, sheet metal forming, etc.  
  • Attention to detail and organization skills; strong written and verbal communication skills  
  • Ability to interact professionally with internal and external customers, subcontractors, and suppliers

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Associate's degree or Technical College (or equivalent) in Mechanical Drafting or related field
  • At least 2 years of relevant experience
